Absolutely terrible dining experience. Inexperienced clueless waiting staff. They're absolutely not prepared to deliver on their promise of advertising in San Francisco restaurant week. Will never go back here again. Do not recommend. Total waste of time and money for $50 per person special dinner menu.
I made online reservations through open table for a special prefix menu during San Francisco restaurant week. We arrived promptly at time because we were going to a show in the neighborhood in 2 hours. The staff was completely inexperienced and unfamiliar with the restaurant food, drinks and the software and processes. Our drought beer orders took about 30 minutes to arrive ( no joke) which literally is pouring the beer out of a tap in a glass. We were literally sitting in front of the bar, and I could have gone behind the bar, took a glass and poured the beer myself in about 2 minutes. On top of that they messed up the beer order about four times after which I gave up. The food took forever to arrive and I was really no system. There was a person supervising the waiting staff, but not sure what his job was because he was definitely not helping the overwhelmed and clueless waitresses. When the food arrived, it did taste awesome and that was literally the only reason that we decided to continue the absolutely frustrating experience. The only reason I'm giving two stars is because the food we ate was actually delicious.
This terrible experience completely ruined our special night out, got us late for our show and out of the three course menu we did not even have a chance to get to dessert and barely ate our main course. It was a complete waste of time and money. We had to take the rest of our food to go because we ran out of time. And we ended up tossing it out because the theater would not allow us to take it inside. That was a complete waste of $100...
Read moreNow for starters I hope Im not crazy when I say this; with a name like Jaspers Corner Tap and Kitchen you would think they would have a totally different vibe than what you see inside! Very basic joint so i thought they would be my choice while staying in ole San Fransicko!
I was looking for breakfast Saturday after finishing some early morning tasks on my trip and I found Jaspers after a careful search ONLINE. Walking in the front door I was met with a cloud of flies that crawled everywhere! Getting inside it was very awkwardly quiet (not even a friendly hello?), no signs so we sat ourselves where my abilities would let me.
while being served i noticed my server seemed scared. Her boss (the shrill witch) was making her do strange tasks around the restaurant like stapling napkins to the walls and putting eggs in the cash register. While doing this the older shrill woman would rant to our server about how poorly the business is doing. Our server was scared and confused and just wanted to bring us warm Jaspers breakfast.
Finally she was allowed to resume her duties but alas it was too late, our food was cold and even had a few loose eggs in it as well. After paying our bill I attempted to take some medications (I was involved in a motorcycle crash 2 months ago) the shrill witch came across the room to scold me and say that this was against policies? We quickly shuffled out of there to safer pastures as she threatened to call the 5-0 for some reason.
