I used to come here with some friends before the new owner took over. I got to know the nice lady taking orders and she always has her big smile and friendly demeanor. She recognized me and gave me a big smile as soon as I walked in. But haven’t seen her in a while and kind of sad about that. Today I order for take out; fried chicken fried rice and Thai ice tea. I don’t know what’s going on with this place, but the food is now just meh. On top of that, it’s very pricey now for what it is. Chicken fried rice and Thai use tea came to a total of $26 for just fried rice with nothing but slices of fried chicken and a slice of blackened tomato buried in rice, and two slices of not so fresh cucumbers. Pretty pricey considering this is just a fast food. For that much, I would rather go to the “real” Thai restaurant like Marnee Thai. Although this fast food place is close to my house; I think this would be my last. Won’t be coming back ever again, unless they’re up their food quality to make the price tag worth it. I’m not surprised this place seems to be empty each time I walked in when picking up order. $8 for thai ice tea is bloody expensive. I should have gone to Purple Kow on balboa instead for better that ice tea with boba and grass jelly for the same price. Audios...
Read moreThis Thai restaurant is average. The 3 Curries are all quite good: Green, Yellow, & Red. The Yellow Curry is the least spicy, they are all a bit sweet as well.
I order the Yellow Curry usually cos I like the Cucumber Salad that comes with it although they seem to include it in the order to try and make up for something. The potatoes that they use are terribly wrong and I never eat them.
Ive tried a few of their soups and they are not spectacular.
The Thai noodles all look good for the most part but really I come here for convenience cos I live close by and cos its Never crowded. This is a great place to order take aways.
I think there are better Thai Restaurants to be had though. King of Thai is not all that cheap really and they are VERY Cheeky about Tips. They nearly insist to be tipped by leaving little notes on the Receipts.
This is not upscale, its quite fast and very average and standard and I feel perfectly comfortable leaving a 10% Tip the service is not all that extraordinary. Cups of water do get refilled often which is welcoming. This restaurant is descent but far from...
Read more1 star for absence of courtesy. In the past year or so I've eaten here a dozen times in suit and tie, many times bringing friends along and always tipping generously to the same staff and waiters. Good experiences. I myself am familiar with the manager, seeing her there a majority of the times I've eaten there and been face to face with her many times. The last time I went I dined in and had card trouble coming up just short of the full bill. I was asked if I could wait for the manager who was arriving in 5 minutes to discuss it with her. I said sure. Upon seeing two male cooks come from behind the counter and sit at tables near the door, I was disappointed in as well as turned off by the people working. The manager of the establishment insisted that I leave collateral as if I hadn't given her establishment hundreds of dollars in the last year. The agreement we soon reached was to pay half the bill then and the...
