When i heard that there was a Golden Boy opening on Taraval, I was like.... where could it be. Then I heard it was near 25th, and immediately, I was like Marco Polo Gelato???

Sure enough, the new Golden Boy in the Sunset is here, and it's amazing!!! I've been going to the original NB restaurant since the 90s??? 80s??? But it was always a destination AND a treat. Parked my motorcycle in front and ate and drank inside of that blacked out interior pizza joint with thousands of decals and graffiti on the corrugated walls. It was perfect! (For North Beach) Which brings me to this place..... I'll finish my post with my final thought.

The pizza is just as good. Love the rectangular pieces. I don't care of there are other pizza places selling square slices, GB is the original 90⁰ slice in SF.

So, about the decals on the exterior tile work. I don't know. I'm not THAT old and I'm not shaking a cane at the (ugly) decals. Okay I said it. This ain't North Beach. It's the Sunset. The decals won't age well. Its not the climate elements. It's the look. NB is gritty and classic, and well, it's the Barbary Coast. NB GB was open late for the night walkers and clubbing junkies. Pizza to fill the alcohol soaked belly's are what it's about.

I think the decals should go. It doesn't look great. Especially against the backdrop of such a beautiful pizza joint. Secondly, decals are now of horrible quality. They will separate and leave ugly paper/glue stains to scrape.

Then, I may be entirely wrong. "Okay Boomer...."

Congratulations to Golden Boy Pizza and welcome to the west side. By the way, I added a decal...

A delicious dose of deep dishiness.

I stopped by today to check on the hours because they hadn't been added to google yet. While adding them, I was told to say "It's the best damn PIzza ... b*h laughs" And you know, it's not far off.

I got one slice of each of the pepperoni, sausage, and combo variants. All the toppings were cooked nicely: no blackened pepperoni, or undercooked veggies. The dough is nice and soft in the middle and super crunchy around the edges, and yet not in such a way as to injure my mouth as I eat it.

Being this location just opened, there was a fair bit of traffic this Saturday but the wait wasn't unbearably long and my pals and I were off before we knew it.

I suppose the only downside is it's take out only, but that was the size of the space they had to work with.

I will...

If you love good pizza, this spot is definitely worth checking out! The pizza here is seriously good—nothing fancy, just solid, delicious pizza done right.

What makes it a little different and fun! is that they serve it in square slices. Something about that shape just feels extra satisfying to bite into. The crust has that perfect crunch I always look for—crispy on the outside but not too hard. And the cheese? Ooey-gooey and melted to perfection. Just how I like it.

It’s takeout only, so don’t expect to dine in. But you can grab a slice or order a whole pizza depending on your mood. I’d recommend calling ahead if you don’t want to wait—it makes pick-up a lot quicker and smoother.

All in all, this is a great spot if you're craving a quality slice without any fuss. I’ll definitely be back for more....

Really good Sicilian style pizza (square/rectangular pan). 3 locations in the bay. Only the 2 SF locations offer slices though. This one is just a takeout window, but there's a park across the street you can eat at. Menu is small and simple. Came on a Monday night, short line. I ordered slices of the combo, pesto veggie, and clam and garlic at $4.50 each. You can't really beat that price these days. It was ready in about 5 mins. The crust of 2 of the 3 slices were excellent, crispy, light, fluffy. 1 was floppy and soft, but 2/3 is not bad. Toppings were quality and the amount was reasonable. Very cheesy. Our favorite was the pesto veggie. For the price and quality, this place ranks pretty high on my list
