What a great addition to thrive city! Located in the corner behind dumpling time, right next to the entrance of Uber! we've been anticipating the open of this new Philz location! Decided to stop by at lunch time to grab a coffee with some coworkers. Walking up to Philz there was lots of Uber employees sitting outside since it is in the middle of Mission Bay Campus. It was a nice day to hang out outside, sitting in the sun and lots of people took advantage of there outdoor seating to grab some coffee.
I decided to try out a Mocha Tesora with almond milk & bacon and onion pretzel. My best friend grabbed a Mint Mojito ice coffee and chocolate croissant.
Since this was my first time trying Philz I didn't know what to expect, but I enjoyed seeing that they have a wide variety of pasty's available. I liked my coffee, wasn't bitter and not over sweet ( but still would have perfected it sweeter for my taste but really good either way) , next time I know to order it sweetened and extra hot, it was a bit too Luke warm for me but I also like my coffee extremely hot. I really enjoyed my bacon and onion croissant, nice and warm, crispy but flaky. Would definitely get again. He said his Mint Mojito Iced Coffee was good too, creamy and sweet and not too strong. The amount of mint added was good and he really liked the presentation of the coffee and how it stayed within the traditional way a Mojito is presented. He hadn't had it in a long time and was better then he remembered. He definitely would get it again.
Really like the seating inside, very spacious and inviting. Long counters of barristas making coffee, they Even have a small table of Philz coffee and tshirts for you to buy.
Looking forward to being able to try all the different food and beverage options when we stop by in the middle of the day for a...
Read moreSunny, spacious, and comfortable. A perfect spot to spend a gorgeous October Sunday afternoon. This Philz, across from Chase Center and half a mile from Y Combinator HQ, is full of young dudes in black pullovers and noise-canceling headphones, coding away on their MacBooks. Even on a Sunday. Pretty sure that’s Cursor AI on the screen at the table closest to my cozy armchair.
The coffee is exactly what I expect from Philz. Excellent! The staff is welcoming and friendly. Wi-Fi as strong as the coffee. Plenty of room to work or just hang out.
I used to pass the OG Philz at 24th & Folsom in the heart of the Mission almost every day on the Muni 67. Cracked leather sofas. Wobbly tables. That lived-in look made it feel like it belonged in the neighborhood. I miss it. But this place is objectively better in every measurable way, as long as you can let go of your affection for the funky charm of the original.
I’ll be back next time I’m in...
Read moreI’m giving 5 stars right off the bat for the music. I’m sitting at the cafe with my Iced Mocha Tesora (I like it extra Creamy 😂) and pastries. I’m having a wave of nostalgia, listening to all my favorite New Wave/Modern Rock songs (several Depeche Mode songs, Siouxsie, The Cult, The Cure, etc.). Feels like I’m listening to old Live 105 KITS. 😂 Any place where you can hear Cities in Dust, Never Let Me Down Again, It’s No Good and In Between Days is automatically awesome. The pastries are from STARTER BAKERY, so that’s also a plus. Plenty of tables/seating. Nice place to hangout while waiting for a Warriors game or just any time you are...
