I went to the Valkyries open house and unfortunately there was no food available. Gott's Roadside in Mission Bay, San Francisco, is conveniently located adjacent to the Chase Center, making it an ideal spot for a pre- or post-event meal. I recently visited on a sunny afternoon, eager to try out their offerings. The sleek, modern exterior blends well with the surrounding area, giving off a casual yet upscale vibe. Indoor and outdoor eating spaces are available.
The menu at Gott's is a mix of elevated fast food with a gourmet twist, and I decided to go with the Lobster BLT, Street Corn, and a Guest Draft beer. While the service was quick and efficient, the prices were shockingly high for what is essentially a glorified fast-casual dining experience.
First up was the Lobster BLT, priced at a staggering $28.99. The sandwich was undeniably delicious. The lobster was fresh, tender, and generously portioned, complemented by crispy bacon, ripe tomatoes, and crunchy lettuce on a perfectly toasted roll. The flavors were well-balanced, and it was clear that quality ingredients were used. However, for nearly $30, I expected something more substantial or at least a side included.
The Street Corn, at $7.99, was a decent side dish but again felt overpriced for what it was. The corn was grilled to perfection, with a nice char that added a smoky flavor. It was topped with a tangy, creamy sauce and sprinkled with cheese, giving it a pleasant kick. It was tasty but not extraordinary—something I could easily find at a food truck for a fraction of the price. Corn is 8/$2 right now at nearby farms.
To wash it all down, I opted for an Angry Orchard beer, priced at $8.00. The beer was refreshing, served cold, and paired well with the meal, but it didn’t stand out in any particular way. Again, the price felt inflated compared to similar establishments in the area.
The subtotal came to $44.98, with tax bringing the total to $48.86. For a quick lunch, this felt exorbitant, especially given the casual nature of the restaurant with limited seating. While the food was good, it wasn’t exceptional enough to justify the steep prices. They asked for a tip at the point of sale device but no service was provided during the visit.
In summary, Gott's Roadside in Mission Bay offers tasty, high-quality food, but at a premium that feels unwarranted. The convenient location and fast service are definite perks, especially for those catching a game or concert at the Chase Center. However, unless you’re prepared to shell out a significant amount for a casual meal, you might want to consider other dining options in the area which in San Francisco...
Read moreFinally had the chance to check out Gotts on 10/4/21 for dinner after a long day of work.
This hot New addition to Thrive City next to the new Chase center is in a peak location for people to grab some food before or after a concert.
We came in with high expectations for this new burger spot. It was Mediocre at best. I honestly expected more of a wow factor when thinking of this type of burger location especially given the price of all the items on the menu, especially since the cheapest burger on the menu is a hamburger starting at $8.00.
We had multiple items on the menu WISCONSIN BURGER CALIFORNIA BURGER GARLIC FRIES CHILI CHEESE FRIES CHICKEN TENDERS 2 Fountain Drinks I payed about $57.00
The best item that we ordered for the evening would have to be the California Burger. It was a cooked well, the egg on it was perfect. The bun was toasty, yes it could have had more bacon but overall really good burger that I I would grab again. I enjoy the temperature that the meat was cooked at, it was pink and juicy so good job on that. The Wisconsin burger was meh. I did ask for the mushrooms on the side since I didn't know if they would make or break the burger. I was correct in my assumption since I enjoyed it more without the mushrooms, but honestly its just an over priced bbq burger. The fries can honestly be sooo much better and there is so much room for improvement, the garlic fries were lacking garlic. They tasted bland. The Chili Cheese fries were also not that great. The Chili itself was lacking flavor. The chicken tenders were also okay. I didn't care too much for the breading. I can honestly say that my biggest turn off factor to this location is the lack of Normal flavored sauces. What type of restaurant doesn't carry Plain ranch, or plain Bbq sauce. Yes I understand that this is supposed to be a "fancy burger " location but some people might not enjoy spicy bbq sauce or cilantro ranch.
So overall it was super over priced and totally overrated location. I might have to stop by just to try other items on the menu and hopefully something else can catch my attention.
The employees were wonderful tho, very friendly and had fantastic customer service. Really high point to this location was the Hand washing station that's located in the back because we are still in the middle of a pandemic and hand...
Read moreIf I could give this place zero stars then I would. I am an Uber driver and I was supposed to pick up an order from this “will ran establishment”. But it was not the case at all I am a colored male and I entered the establishment behind a non colored male, the man ordered alcohol and they immediately catered to his wishes without asking for ID. I waited at the front counter for a few minutes then I had to speak up due to the lady behind the counter refusing to acknowledge my presence. After I spoke up and she grabbed the order she immediately asked me for ID I told her it was in my car (which was parked many blocks away from the establishment due to there not being any parking available near the store.) The lady told the manager and he approached me with an arrogant attitude and refused to let me do my job which was delivering a meal he went as far as to call up Uber because “he didn’t feel comfortable with letting me do my job”. This was the first time I’ve been been asked to provide ID when picking up an order. I wasted gas coming to this establishment just to be turned away since In my opinion was because I was black. Marcus which was who I dealt with didn’t want to give me the managers number after I asked instead another lady spoke up and claimed they were both managers and when I asked for their managers name all she gave me was a name which is (Rj) but refused to give a number to reach Rj. This is a N-O-N BLACK friendly establishment and I advise anyone that is black to never go there. This is coming from a Golden state Warriors fan so stay clear of this place for they are...
