This place used to serve generously portioned & seriously delicious nigiri sushi and maki rolls and amazing baked bass appetizer. This restaurant was staple for me even with the price increase by 30-35% after the new owner took over. I’ve been a devoted customer for 15 years. However some months ago this year, they started skimping on the size of the sushi - nigiri is 30% smaller and the maki rolls are 40% smaller than it used to be. Earlier this year, we left feeling full after spending $110 for 2 people , and today we left hungry after spending $140 for 2. You have lost a devoted customer with your significant portion size reduction And price increase, and I will not be...

Sushi Zone! A dive of a place, that can only hold about a dozen people, with surprisingly some of the best sushi in all of San Francisco. You'll be hard pressed to find better sushi than this. But, you have to work for it. There is almost certainly a massive wait (1.5 hours or so) to get in. In fact, there is usually a line of people waiting to get in, before it opens. A bit of a hint, if you are in line 40 minutes before it opens, you are almost guaranteed to get a seat when they open. Again, it only holds about a dozen people. The decor leaves much to be desired, but the sushi will blow your mind...and to make it even sweeter, it is so reasonably priced. Truly one of San...

Late night dinner. Decided to try this place and I fell in love with it! We sat at the booth and was greeted immediately! Ordered Miso soup as an appetizer and I ordered to different type of rolls. Which were the Hawaiian Roll #1 and the New York. Miso soup was served literally 8 minutes after I had placed it. Rolls did take about an hour to serve. However, it was worth the wait they were presented perfectly and had an awesome fresh taste. Best sushi in San Francisco I have ever tried before. The waitress apologized for wait on the food but explained that there was only one chef. But wow was it...

I really hope my experience was just an off night, but the salmon nigiri here was horrendous and I had to spit it out. The fish was tough and almost crunchy like eating cartilage, and it had a fishy old smell. The mango salmon roll was delicious, sweet, and tender in comparison so I am just hoping the salmon nigiri was a mistake - but a terrible mistake for my first experience here. That salmon nigiri was legitimately worse than grocery store sushi which was a real shocker to me. My friends also had a piece of salmon nigiri in their orders and said the same thing, but ate it anyway.

Was really disappointed by the fish quality :( We saw the tuna set on google photos and thought it looked really good! But upon ordering it was absolutely nowhere near the quality shown in their photo. The tuna also didn't taste fresh and didn't have a good texture, and was also pretty expensive so we were disappointed. The baked mussels were good though! And the server was kind and attentive, but we wanted good sushi, so we probably won't be back.
