Publico Urban Taqueria — Restaurant in San Francisco

First, the Carne asada aka grilled steak tastes pre boiled and then browned on a flat grill. It tastes flat, like if it cooked in its own fat lIke a flat grill. The seasoning was almost undetectable. Second, tortas are known for the brown soft bolio bread, not hard sourdough style french bread. The super fries are soggy and although they have good proportions they look like no effort was put in on preparing them. It seems as thought you get hot fries, sprinkle some boiled steak, sprinkle some cheese, use a icecream scoop and just splatter some toppings. Overall this is a sorry a** mexican food fony. Taco Bell has a better understanding of Mexican food. I understand having to make more efficient ways to please the crowds but this is just terrible. Won't be back, ever. Super fast at getting you your food, so if that's what you need and subway is packed next door, walk to taco bell cantina...

Absolutely blown away by Public Urban Taqueria. The owner is incredibly friendly, passionate, and clearly takes pride in both the food and the experience. The menu is refreshingly creative, and the quality of ingredients is genuinely top-tier — you can taste the difference in every bite. Both the chicken and beef are halal, and the flavors are spot on.

Been there many times with no issues at all. Today though there was a small mix-up with my order where I received chicken instead of beef, but the owner handled it perfectly. He made it right immediately, all with a smile, and even let me keep the corrected order — now that’s how you do customer service.

Ordered a vegetarian burrito. Woke up with my stomach messed up. I just confirmed they use PORK in the refried beans. And they don’t tell anyone unless they ask. Público- it’s common sense if someone wants a VEGETARIAN burrito - they don’t want PORK in it! How is this so hard to understand?? I’ll now spend the next 2-3 days in pain and agony. I should sue.
