Hello Super Duper,
It had been some time since trying another burger at Laurel Village location, and I am happy to say that I enjoyed it and the fries were good. I wondered if this location simply needed time to work out some of the problems they were having. I am happy to order my usual cheeseburger and fries with pickles on the side. The service was friendly as usual. I appreciate the wine and beer options, as well as the information on sourcing of the beef, bread and other products. Thank you! Hello Super Duper,
I initially wrote a good review since I was so happy that they had a location in the Richmond District. After having their burgers and fries a few times, the quality of the burger is inferior to the pre-pandemic burgers, and not as good as other locations. I wonder where they source their meat. Last time I ordered takeout the bun was wet. Sadly, the Castro/Noe and Chestnut locations are much better. They are consistently good. Super Duper at Laurel cannot see to prepare the fries right. One time they had tossed the fries with bits of something, and it was not good, and twice I ordered regular fries and discovered that they gave me garlic fries with cheese which was gross. Soggy with too much gunk. I prefer plain crisp fries on the outside and soft on the inside. Staff has always been pleasant and it's a bit sad that I am writing this review. I'd like to suggest that the owner and cooks learn best practices from other locations. For some odd reason they don't ever give extra raw onions. I can live with that if everything else...

🍔 Truffle Burger I tried the Truffle Burger special, two ways: one with a regular bun and one with a ciabatta bun. This burger is a masterpiece—caramelized onions and melted Jack cheese pair perfectly with the rich truffle oil that coats every bite. It's phenomenal! While the ciabatta bun held its structure well and offered a heartier bite but overall I think I prefer the classic bun for its balance. Also, definitely ask for some ranch on the side and pour it on before your next bite—it’s a great bite for sure.
🍟 Garlic Fries The garlic fries are next-level, loaded with garlic and topped with six-month-aged white cheddar. Absolutely delicious!
🍴 Extras They’ve got a self-serve soda fountain with ketchup, mustard, and spicy pickle spears. Grab a Dr Pepper or Coke and pair it with a few pickle spears—it’s a surprisingly good combo.
🍹 Refreshing End After your meal, cool down with their iced tea. Add some lemon and sugar for the perfect finish.
Overall: This place delivers on all fronts—flavorful food, great vibes, and a solid setup. I know they are a chain but if you haven't had super duper, it's definitely...
Read moreGood burgers here. The garlic fries portions are tiny though. Sadly, I was still a bit hungry when I left. My Yelp friends' feed attracted me to come here. Back in the early 2010's, we used to go to their Market St. location a lot after happy hours and late night bar runs. This location has beer on tap, which is great. I hated the cans of beer at their Berkeley location. Tonight I had the Super Duper burger $9.25 + cheese $1 + egg $1.75 + mushrooms $1.25 + garlic fries $4.25 + Racer 5 IPA $6 = $24.44. The burger was juicy with a good amount of charbroil flavor. There was so much stuff on there, everything fell apart when I ate it. I loved that. They don't have American cheese though. Weird! The garlic fries were a bit misleading. I saw the Yelp photos and their portions were much bigger. The ones I received are the size of a McDonald's small. They were a bit soggy and didn't have that usual Super Duper crunch with a mild garlic flavor. Regardless, it was a good meal. Service was excellent. This location is a great addition to the Laurel Heights. Welcome to the neighborhood...
