Iāve given this a lot of thought and Iām sure there are many brides who are NOT in my situation, but I will say that if you are having initial try on/buying your dress in one showroom and picking up in another, be forewarned that there is a policy that you are required to pay in full ahead of picking up your gown, sight unseen. This was my situation and I hope my sharing it will help others avoid the headache I had: I reached out recently (mid-June) for an update, as I was told my dress should be ready for pick up around May in the NYC showroom after I placed my order with the SF team. I was told that ābefore you are able to schedule your pickup weāll have to wrap up your order balance.ā
I referred to my contract, signed November of last year, that noted that final payments would be made upon pickup of my dress. To me, this new correspondence read that I wouldnāt be able to even be put on the pickup schedule until I paid for the dress, without any indication that it would be completed or available to pickup soon. I live on the east coast and was hoping that being able to pick up in the NYC showroom would alleviate stress; instead, I felt like there were some gaps in transparency and communication that left me worried about my dress. I made the request to SF back in December and only in my correspondence this June was I told that NYC would now be given my contact info, which further added to my anxieties.
I removed one star from my initial review because I want so much to still have a great experience with this company, and Iām sure the finished product will be beautiful. I do think there are some areas of communication and clarity in policy that could be improved, and I want future buyers not to have this experience. Had I known that the transfer policy was in play when I made arrangements in December, or received updates on delays and status of my dress from either SF or NYC, I would not have felt the need to write this note. Following my email conversation with the SF team, the NYC team did reach out and set up next steps, which Iām very grateful for. As of today, I have been put on the schedule to pick up my dress next month and I am looking forward to meeting the NYC team. I hope this helps other brides in their dress buying process, as it has been emotional for me.
Previous review: Loved visiting the aptly named Love Club in SF - my stylist, Alyssa, was helpful and encouraging, and even made sure my mom got to see me in a veil. Iām so glad I said yes to the dress here and I canāt wait for the dress to come in. Thank you,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCanāt say enough about SS SF; what a wonderful group of amazing, supportive women. Hereās the journey I was on: bought a sample sale Suzanne Neville dress from store going out of business; gorgeous dress but just didnāt feel like it was āmeā. (I know I always said I would never consider looking at more dresses after I bought one. Whoopsā made appt at Sarah Seven SF in Nov 2020 peak pandemic. Brought my mother (my best hype woman)⦠I just always loved SS dresses. Modern, chic, understated in the BEST way. met with Kaitlyn (from NYC). I loved every single dress I tried on, some more than others. Kaitlyn did such a nice job of helping me find which dress I felt my absolute best in. I ended up trying on the Christi last just on a whim thinking āI would never buy a short sleeve dressā and instantly feel in love; I felt like a Boss Babe. It was just me. Simply me. purchased with plenty of time to spare and started with alterations 8-10 weeks prior to my August ā21 wedding with Crisel. Crisel is the best. She puts you at ease, gives amazing advice and clearly enjoys making woman feel extra special. Sheās so warm; made my dress fit like a glove! fast forward to 3-4 weeks before wedding I decide I must have a Before Seven āafter partyā look and made a quick appointment with Annie. Another amazing spirit. We found Eloisa and boy was she amazing. They did a rush delivery for a reasonable fee. tried on Eloisa when she arrived less than one week in advance and it needed pretty big alterations, taken in a few inches and tightened the straps. Crisel was able to make this happen! Like I would expect anything else. I felt like my best self on my wedding day!! I couldnāt imagine any different of an experience. Now that itās all over, I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI really don't even know where to start other than to say go here to find your dress! I had flown in from Seattle to SF for the weekend in hopes to find my dress after many, many fittings. I had tried on some Sarah Seven dresses in Seattle but wanted to see all of my options before committing to one! As we walked in, we were greeted by THE Sarah. I couldn't believe it and my friends were freaking out. I explained to Sarah my problems with finding a dress as I had both a traditional ceremony (where I needed to be covered) while also planning for a fun and romantic reception. At this point I was convinced I would need two dresses which was 1) stressful 2) so expensive! I think Sarah could sense my frustration and anxiety with the whole process. Within minutes of explaining my problems she said I know exactly what we can do and brought out my favorite sarah seven dress but offered to make me some custom dress additions so she could make the dress perfect for not only the reception but also the ceremony! I was so happy, and felt a huge relief off of my shoulders. I bought the dress there and then, cancelled the rest of my SF appointments and enjoyed the rest of the weekend with my friends.
Sarah is hilarious, kind, and so authentically herself. It is clear she is really an artist through and through and loves what she does. She went above and beyond to help me find the one and feel amazing about the decision. It was an honor to have that experience with her in the SF store is the absolute highlight of my wedding planning experience. I can't wait to fly to New York for my final fitting at the Sept showroom. Thank you so much to this store and to Sarah herself for the greatest wedding dress...
