The fish is super fresh. Their sushi rice is hands down the best I’ve ever had. Please be careful with the wasabi though, it’s extremely strong. Lazy summer - Wonderful and refreshing, love the miso soy sauce. Great for those who like something more light. Wasabi Hama - Lots and lots of wasabi masago on top. If you’re a big fan of fish eggs and wasabi you’ll enjoy this roll a lot. Nigiri - personally not a huge fan of nigiri but the fish is fresh and the rice is amazing so you can’t go wrong with it. Amaebi Sashimi - Super fresh and sweet at a super low price point. Comes with miso soy sauce (my favorite) and fried shrimp heads. Uni Sashimi - It’s a dice roll, sometimes it’s super fresh and sometimes it’s not. Asking before ordering would be a good move. Sunset Strip - Great for people who like a mix of flavors in one bite. There’s mango and a variety of fish. Spicy Tuna Hand Roll - You can’t go wrong with this. More fish and seaweed to rice ratio than your average sushi roll and hand roll. Spider Hand Roll - Literally the best, it’s crunchy savory and sweet. There’s no way to describe how good it is in words. Even got free miso soup with orders $20 and above.

My husband and I have been going here for almost two years. This place has become our favorite lunch and dinner spot in San Francisco. The owners are amazingly nice people who go above and beyond to make us feel cozy and welcome. The portions are very good, and lunch bento boxes and combination dinners are very reasonably priced and very fulfilling. They also have student lunch specials, which are very cheap. We loved everything we tried here (and we tried almost everything), and we have never had a disappointing experience so far. Our favorites are Rock'n'roll and lunch bento boxes with sashimi (which is always fresh and tasty). Thank you Kevin and Sushi Zen for being so awesome!!

This has been my go to sushi spot since living in Snohomish for the past few years. Akisan is the main sushi master and he was always fun to talk too. All the staff is very friendly and attentive. The rolls are very fresh and generous portions. I always get the salmon lemon roll and Philly roll and it's great for the price. I took my daughter there for her birthday and ordered her the banana tempura ice cream and they took it off the check and put a candle and lit it for her. Definetly recommend for sushi rolls!

I was craving for bento box and found this restaurant so close to my place, and yet I’ve never dined or ordered take out from here until today. And based and these great reviews, I decided to order lunch bento box to go. When I got home, I’m shocked that the little box containing rice they gave me was a little half full and it SMELLS!! Wow! For $22 lunch, how dare they gave me so little rice that is old and smelly. They think I’m a fool. I’m bloody asian and I live on rice my whole life. I’s appalling how restaurant gives old food to take out customers. This restaurant isn’t the first to do this. Even the rice that I cooked in my rice cooker doesn’t smell that bad after 3 days sitting in rice cooker. I called and complained and brought the rice over to show them and asked the guy who gave me the rice to smell it. The rice they gave me looks like left over rice from a customer who dined in that they saved from a week or so ago. Yikes!! So gross!! The guy said the rice was cooked in the morning. If he thinks I’d believe that, he’s stupid. I told him to smell it and compare it with the replacement rice, which was full, and smells what fresh cooked rice supposed to smell. Geez! I wanted to support small local business, but if this is what I got; no thanks! Would NEVER EVER ever come to this place ever again. EVER! Uff…this kills...

I love this gem of a local restaurant. I love sushi & I love traditional Japanese food. I was very interested from the get go in seeing that they had a Bento lunch special that included saba shioyaki, sashimi, California roll, salad and miso soup. I ordered it and it was delicious. They also serve Gen Mai Cha, makes my heart smile. The food was excellent. Even more impressive is the lunch specials that they serve to the kids from Lincoln High & other schools. They have an open booth in the front, specifically for high school kids (similar to an old school movie theater ticket booth) to where the kids are lined up. They prepare boxes just for them. Also, a ton of local construction workers, SFPD, locals in general. The owners greet everyone when they come in & also do the traditional thank you & goodbye when everyone leaves. They have pictures lining the walls of their regulars on one side of the room. On the other side, drawings from regulars, mostly kids and teenagers. I love this place!!! I took my husband there for lunch last week. We had our normal sushi restaurants for years. Our former favorite changed hands. He was skeptical when we went in. He was wowed when he was served his food. 🙂 It's our new...
