I ordered the pork and cabbage dumplings and the cucumber salad, and I’m still thinking about both.
The dumplings were absolutely perfect—plump, juicy, and wrapped in delicate, chewy skins that taste unmistakably handmade. The filling had just the right balance of savory pork and cabbage, and the dumplings came bathed in a light, fragrant broth, topped with sesame seeds and a sprinkle of cilantro. I didn’t even need dipping sauce—they were that flavorful on their own.
The cucumber salad? A total scene-stealer. Crisp, crunchy chunks of cucumber tossed in chili oil, soy sauce, garlic, sesame seeds, and cilantro. It’s refreshing, spicy, and ridiculously addictive. Easily one of the best versions I’ve had in SF.

Read moreNew spot on Kearny! Just a few spots down from Enjoy Vegetarian which I end up at every now and then, Today Food is serving up excellent dumplings in pan fried, soupy and steamed forms. A couple folks work diligently at the entrance, pinrolling (is that a word?) dough to make little doughlings to stuff goodness inside. I'm vegetarian and it's hard to find dumplings that satisfy my craving, they end up being dough balls with some pitiful cabbage stuffed inside, but I found their soupy vegetarian dumplings fulfilling and filled with all kinds of delightful goodies.
I hope they can move to in house utensils from the plastic at some point, I'd love to be a repeating patron. Their chili oil with the bits of peanuts inside is a total delight too, it went so very well...

The chef/owner/server/busser/and probably dishwasher too, is heart to this gem and his employees are devoted to this ancient craft. Plenty of cozy seating inside and metered parking on the streets. Do not go to traders joes for frozen dumplings when they have them beautifully hand crafted and ready to take home from frozen menu. We wished we ordered more but was on a time time frame. This is the only soup dumpling place that I know of that provides 5 year aged black vinegar to mix in with their dipping sauce. 5 Stars is correct.
