Poor customer service Dirty accommodations Hardly considered a massage Aggressive demand of 20% tip
Looks like they took a drastic swing in their business a few months back because they’ve had a strong reputation until recently. I only went here because a friend said it was a good spot she used to frequent. Went in for the 60 min split massage with a friend and had an “appointment”. They soaked my feet for almost 15 minutes before someone was free to help. Then had s rushed foot massage, cut short by about 15 minutes. Went to the “body” massage, which I would be hard pressed to even call a massage. I was covered by a nasty old blanket, might I add. As soon as another customer came in they rushed to finish. When I go to pay he was demanding more tip from my friend and she already left 15%. All in all it was $56 for a 45 minute massage (supposed to be 60, obvi).
TL;DR
Spend the extra $20 and go to a legit spot. Trust the reviews, and steer...
Read moreMy partner and I were looking for a massage in Chinatown and this was the first one we stumbled upon. We decided to look around a bit more and weigh our options but we decided to go back to Fung Soong as it offered best price/quality ratio, plus the Google reviews were stellar. It looked clean and sober, prices were reasonable and it was served by a man and a woman. I got the 1 hour reflexology and my partner the 1 hour full body massage. The lady gave me a superb foot massage and she really targeted the problematic areas on my feet, my arches being the most pressing. My partner is a dancer and the full body massage was incredible; a combination of what appeared to be shiatsu and deep tissue. We were both very satisfied and almost speechless as the massages exceeded our expectations. The man and woman were respectful and quiet the whole time. It was a very relaxing experience and we’d love to go back....

I had a great experience here. The masseuse did tell me in advance that a 20% tip was mandatory. Considering the very reasonable price, I don't find that to be too unreasonable. The massage itself was mostly excellent (I'm picky & I never like every single thing, so this is pretty high praise). Amazing value for the money. I tipped her more than 30%, because I fully felt she deserved it. I came in with an unbelievable headache and was dreaming about getting home to take ibuprofen. The sense of relief and well-being from being relieved of that headache and just feeling fantastic stayed with me for hours after the massage.
PS: did not end up taking...
