I was so excited when i found out a new taco spot had opened up in town. Ive been on the search for (at this point) DECENT carne asada fries that are NOT from Alberto’s. Everywhere Ive tried Ive always ended up with meh fries, rubbery dry flavorless meat and questionable “guacamole. Omg, but everything at Taqueria Los Abarcas was anything BUT that. Walking inside is such a cool vibe, like this isnt any old dusty restaurant. It looks cool and hip. Its one of those places youd be proud to take any out-of-town friends or family members that made the trip out here to visit you.
They had a pretty wide selection to choose from that hat left me torn between what to start with and what to save for next time we visit. This time we started off with asada fries, where we chose the carne asada for the meat (of course). And my husband had to try their mouthwateringly delicious quesabirria tacos. The carne asada was on point - it looked and tasted like ACTUAL juciy meat, not something defrosted with a doughy-like texture.. Also BTW, the guacamole actually looked FRESH. Like something that came out of an avocado and not squeezed out of a bottle. As for the meat in the quesabirria, it was juicy, tender, and incredibly flavorful. The consomé was mouthwateringly tasty, and I even added half a lime to enjoy it like a soup.
To finish the meal I had originally asked for the frozen lemonade, but was told that it wasnt ready but their that frozen horchata is available. So ya know i had to order it. I love anything horchata. And yup that was the best thing ive ever had. Tasted like creamy, milky, cinnamony horchata BUT frozen. It was delicious and such a treat for this upcoming summer. I cant wait to come back again and try their menudo, the tacos, and the torta, and the quesabirria (again) lol. Oh man now I want to go back right now. anyways thats it okthanxbai!
tldr; hip cool location, with juicy tasty meat, and uniquely delicious frozen...
Read moreI ordered from uber eats. We ordered two burritos, a taco plate and carne asada fries. Nobody likes the food. It was gross. No meat practically in burrito but plenty of beans and hot peppers. I ordered lettuce and tomato with sour cream and extra cheese. It was so nasty no vegetables practically. The lemonade never made it to us, the taco plate was nasty in flavor. Nobody ate practically any of it and my grandson never ate any of his at all. I called for a remedy and a bland uninterested employee offered virtually no help unless we drove over there. He also questioned my statement of having no lettuce or tomatoes saying he prepared it. What a disgusting liar. Included with this are pictures of our 73.00 meal that nobody ate most of it. I don’t know how they have a high rating. Also I wrote uber eats. Not helpful at all but gave me a 5.00 credit. Wow. I do not recommend this food. It doesn’t taste good. It’s slapped together, the tortillas are thin and undercooked, the vegetables and extras you pay extra for are left out and they beans are thrown in to make up for the lack of ingredients and they are dry and tasteless. Horrible horrible horrible! It was basically a gross bean and...
Read moreThe tortillas are Guerrero brand (not necessarily bad), nice use of the flat grill to cook them, I ordered guac on each taco which was an extra dollar per taco, I was given about 3/4 table spoons of guac per taco, which I was not satisfied with, the guac was rationed with a thin flat blade spreading tool, the carne asada was tooooooo salty, it was noticeably too much salt to where the meat was ruined, if I tasted it after cooking, I would throw it away as it was not good to sell, I would be salty about it (pun intended), it would certainly cost the business money, but throw away oversalted meat, it is the right thing to do. I wasn't going to say anything but I am now chugging water as my body is feeling the salt. I had tacos el pastor as well, nothing bad to say about the taco except the same guac comment, but I must say, my palate wasn't all the way there, I was stunned by todays salt level in the carne asada. I don't post food reviews often, but have posted many in many places, to include Japan, I've had places I frequented, this place has potential but I doubt I'll be back. I spent just shy of $11 for my 4...
