While I was there, the only person working the front counter was Paloma. There was a nice older lady on the ordering kiosk in front of us, and another couple on the second kiosk. When the couple moved on, my fiance and I took their spot, while the older lady seemed to start struggling with the kiosk. Your menu displays are so shoddy, the top of the menu was cut off and she couldn't figure out where the 'cart' button was on the tip of the screen. While we started our order, the older lady tried to wave at Paloma to get some help. Paloma, instead of acknowledging the customer, turned her back so that she couldn't see anything and continued prepping trays and to-go plates. Finally, when Paloma had to go further away to grab an item, the older lady had to lean across the entire counter and wave her hand to get Paloma's attention, almost yelling 'Can i get some help?'. What was the acknowledgment? Paloma grunts a semi-audible 'uh-huh' and goes back to bagging orders. In walks an off-the-clock coworker who walks up behind Paloma and yells to her, and they start laughing and talking while this older lady just waits. So I decided to get her attention and point out that the older lady is waiting. Paloma decided to continue filling bags with empty to-go boxes, as I guess that is the priority? So my fiance starts to help the older lady, and that prompts Paloma to come around the counter and actually begin to help. There was another instance afterwards, with the older lady not getting her food until the three orders after her were already eating, that the older lady went to ask why it was taking so long, and every person in the kitchen ignored her until just yelling "Coming" as they went to the back to bring Paloma to the counter, the cooks standing at the windows and just staring at this lady. I assume she is the only one allowed to help customers? Meanwhile there are three cooks holding the kitchen doors open that lead to the dining area, leaned against them with one of the servers and the off-work coworker from earlier all laughing and hanging out. There is no reason to be rude, let alone to someone who is more vulnerable than the average customer. I hope that when these people are old, as we will all be some day, they spend their days feeling lost, helpless and alone. This type of culture and behavior is top-down. This is not one person at a store being rude, this is an accepted behavior practiced by everyone in this store. The Cajun salmon sandwich was bland and nowhere near spicy, but my fiance...
Read moreBeen here 3 times and everytime the food is good. I wish that the side dishes could be hot. The sides of rice and veggies is only luke warm. The fried fish needed to be fried about 1 to 2 mins more for my liking. It was cold in the restaurant. With room for a good size crowd... while we were there only 3 tables had customers and 2 tables put jackets on or had them upon arrival. The credit card only idea is just not my thing. I always pay cash so to be thrown for a loop... I did not care for that. NO ONE ASKED if I needed help. Maybe just something I need to get ready for ... I also feel that the servers should give more napkins, spoons (for rice etc) and all needed condiments... soy sauce, hot sauce, malt vinegar, salt/ pepper, and water cups... Ask atleast. Got some push back from the male and female worker that stood at the counter everytime I asked for different things. It was quite awkward. I felt like I was bothering them. Pepsi on the order menu kept saying "can" I didn't know u had Pepsi in fountain drink. I did not order Pepsi in a can for 2 plus dollars. Female bathroom was low on toilet paper. For all the worker that were standing around, that could have used some attention. Prices and plate size is good and I really like this restaurant. I'd like to up my review next time I come, so my advice is please pay attention to details, it really does matter. A little nicer customer service could help too. There was 1 "nice" guy outside. On our way out, he stopped what he was doing, asked if we liked the food and told us to come back and we will just for him and his...
Read moreLove the food here and it’s a great deal for seafood! The tacos are great and they come with beans, rice and drink if you get the combo. For the drink, you can get a bottle or the fountain. And the grilled fish plates are also fantastic. A wide variety of kinds, plus sides. And for $3.75 along with the dish plate we got a couple of coconut prawns. Friendly service and a clean restaurant.
February 2023 update: Shrimp tacos still rock! This time with corn and sweet potato fries as sides.
March 2023 update: Cajun tacos still good as ever! Also had a combo of Swai fish and grilled shrimp plate which was awesome. Beans could use salt but still good.
April 2023 update: I had grilled fish this time. Specifically, the rockfish. Highly recommended, with the garlic butter sauce. Goes great with rice and zucchini sides. by far the best fresh value I have found anywhere for seafood. And so good!
Downgraded a star because of their new setup. They no longer have a person taking your order at the counter. Now they have touch screen kiosks. Not a bad thing, but there were a lot of older clientele in the building up line, and their workers were just watching them. And the person who stages the trays also just stands there. If you help people order, then you'd have more trays to stage! Shouldn't they...
