I've been going to Fancy Flavors for over a year now, but I will most likely not be going to this place for some experiences I've had throughout the year.
Just yesterday, I went to Fancy Flavors because they were having a $2 macaron sale day. I was excited to try out different flavors but I was really disappointed when I tried the macarons. The macaron shells were very dry and hard. I've never had such a bad texture from any other macaron shop I've been to. Because of the dry and hard shell, the filling spilled out, making it harder to eat. I don't know if Fancy Flavors decided to bake all macarons in a bulk several days before and sold it without paying attention to the quality, but this was really disappointing.
Also, earlier this year, I requested for a customized order for my partner's birthday. The design I asked for was a very simple illustration of a game character. I genuinely thought that they would make the macarons faithful to the original design that I showed them through a reference picture. However, when I picked up the macarons, I couldn't hide my disappointment because what they made was so far off from the picture I gave them. It looked as if a child tried to copy the picture. I understand that it's unreasonable to ask for an exact carbon copy of the picture, but even the easy details were missing, and it could have been avoided if whoever was making the macarons actually looked at the design carefully. I was so disappointed and frustrated that they didn't even send me a sample macaron they made off of my reference picture and asked if it was ok. There was no communication until the day of pick-up. My partner was also really disappointed but we decided to forget about it because at least the macarons tasted fine.
The recent events made me re-think about how Fancy Flavors does their quality control. There are plenty of other bakeries that sell a variety of macarons without compromising their quality. If Fancy Flavors wants to keep their customers, they should improve their quality...
Read moreI will say the Red head girl did yell at me or towards me when she was yelling to the staff behind her asking about the raspberry desserts and how many were left. I understand that you probably have alot of new customers coming in and asking about those raspberries but thereâs no reason to take it out on the customers. I felt so uncomfortable after that as if I had done something wrong for asking about the rasberries. She never said youâre welcome or thank you or any of that like the owner is claiming she did. The customers after us were offered silverware and welcomed with smiles. We were treated differently. Unfortunately, that was my experience, and if the owner was there, while this was happening, I am very disappointed in the owner for allowing this type of uncomfortableness. I wish I wouldâve spoke up in the moment and asked to speak to the owner because we drove an hour to come try the raspberries and the customer service was awkward and not friendly. I completely understand that you the owner will always put your staff first. But thereâs absolutely no reason why Iâd write a post if I didnât feel like it was an experience that no one should have to have. I suggest better customer service training. Teach your staff to be welcoming no matter who walks...
Read moreIt's nice seeing a local Asian women owned establishment thriving in the bay area! My friend wanted to check out this spot so we planned ahead and got here about 30 min+ before opening. The line built up quickly, we stood in line around 20 min before opening and we were around the 8th or so group to get in. The line does move pretty quickly though since they have an efficient process down. Because the croissants came out smaller than normal, they reduced the price of one of the flavor croissants. That day there was only the vanilla and Vietnamese coffee flavor, so I got one of each as well as their kawaii cream puff! The desserts are quite high in price, but you are paying for quality, fresh pastries that takes time and care to make.
The bakery is super cute and clean inside. They serve variety of desserts from macarons to cookies to their famous spiral croissants. The croissants were definitely delicious - buttery, flaky, and generous with cream filling. But my favorite would have to be the cream puffs, I wish it was bigger! I can eat 10 of those! If you're a fan of croissants, definitely check them out! I also heard they serve delicious macarons too. Parking is plentiful with tons of spots available, it's in a shopping plaza with other shops and...
