We had a Five guys next to our house and it closed down. Part of it was due to the pandemic but it was really the service which made us stop going even though we liked the food. We personally belive the employ vibe killed the business. We found this location and the people working there are friendly for the most part. So many places hire people (mainly youger workers I have noticed) that are not people persons and they will convey through body language (no smile when they greet you and while they address you) and eye rolls that they do not want to serve you or work and this translates to the customer that they do not like you and you are an irritation. Basic lack of work ethic is what I encounter everywhere these days. In this location, overall the staff is friendly though my last visit out of five has me hoping it does not turn into a place I will avoid dining in.
Food is really good. On the menu, a regular burger has two beef patties. A little burger has one beef patty. If you just order the burger by name then you get it exactly that way without anything added to it. If you want anything on it, then you need to tell them and it is listed on the menu, such as lettuce for example. You used to be able to order everything or All the Way I recall (may have remembered that wrong). I think that confused customers here in the West Coast. Now it says All the Way and list addition items. The easiest for me is to order All the Way and then remove and add to it since I like most of the items which appears to be the most common added items to speed it up.
I am a type II diabetic. I ask for my burger to drop the bun and lettuce wrap it. This is a great place to eat to avoid a glucose spike from eating there as long as the bun and ketchup is dropped and fries, milkshake, and sugar soda is not ordered. In fact, I have even ordered their hot dog lettuce wrapped.
It can be difficult to find a place where my family and friends who are not diabetic can order what they want and I can order so I don't trigger a spike. So many places put sugar into everything. At Five Guys you can get a flavorful and tasty meal without so much sugar and carbs.
This location does not have a lot of homeless in it. It did have one I encountered but it was once in five visits. Considering how many homeless are in the area this is pretty good. Please do not judge me for pointing this out. I want to go to a place where the atmosphere is to my liking. I have been to places where homeless frequent and I may get something take out but I will not eat there. Eventually, I will go stop going to that place if the staff attitude is poor and someone asks me for money or food. I have not had this problem at this location so far...
Read moreThis was my first time eating at Five Guys. It was clean inside, easy to get to, and not busy, so we received our food very quickly. The cashier wasn't very helpful or informative despite my voicing that I was a newbie. The "burgers" listed are two patties. The "small burgers " are one. I chose the provided combo burger option, which includes mushrooms. The meat was perfect (fully cooked FYI), juicy, and savory. The mushrooms were on the bottom, and upon trying to lift my burger from the foil, I realized the bottom bun had melded into a soggy love relationship with the foil wrapper. The mushrooms didn't have any flavor, I'm unsure if they seasoned them at all. Overall, the burger was tasty, buns soft, fresh ingredients. I didn't notice there were two options for fries, I would have enjoyed trying the cajun fries. Regardless, the fries were perfect, and definitely no ketchup necessary! The prices make this a "treat," but with the wage issues going on here, it's not shocking...$30 for two burgers, one fry and drink. It's a very open floor plan, so customers can watch every step of the preparation, which is great. There's a huge box of peanuts in shell that's offered with cardboard boats and buffet style. I did not realize that there was peanut oil used for cooking. Lastly, almost no plastic waste! Yay! Serious...
Read moreGranted this is a new location but any manager worth anything wouldn't put an employee who doesn't know the menu, has trouble with personal communication, and doesn't have any understanding of a computer on the register alone. The poor kid had to ask for help with every item ordered, not every order. 7 minutes to order...seven, only two parties ordering in front of me. I all for giving people a shot at a job they don't have experience in but tutor him and help him get better!!! Manager would come over and enter the single item in correctly, not explain why or what he did for training purposes, and just walk away..so the kid still doesn't know any better. I felt bad for the him. Good luck but I'll just stick to my local location, they're great. Haha! Oh, my burger was delicious...so...
