So unfortunate because their banh canh is delicious. However, I can no longer support their business. We’ve always ordered it via doordash and it comes with pig feet. This time we went in person and they didn’t give me pig feet. I thought maybe they forgot but when I asked, the guy said “oh, you want it?” And I was so confused and asked “doesn’t it usually come with it?” And he said yes then went to go get it. I was so in shock because it felt like they were trying to rip me off bc i don’t speak Vietnamese while all the other customers there are Vietnamese and I saw they all had pig feet (Yes, I was observing others because I was so in shock and wanted to confirm my suspicions).
When I went to pay, I asked about it again and the same guy said “the kitchen forgot”. If they really forgot, wouldn’t they had said sorry and said that when I asked in the first place. Compares to other Vietnamese restaurants, this restaurant’s menu is very limited and concentrated on a few dishes that they do pretty well. If you’re Vietnamese or understand Vietnamese cuisine, this restaurant is enough and worth your time. I tried Crab Udon Noodle, Pork Offal Porridge, and Bun Dau Mam Tom. All is great, flavors bursting in my mouth, every element in each dish is well prepared. Authentic Vietnamese restaurant with special dishes, the ones that are not popular to Westerners because of the ingredients.
We came in for Bún đậu mắm tôm and ordered a side of Bánh canh. They were all tasty and on point. It’s been a while since I had Bún đậu. This felt both nostalgic and delicious.
The staff were pretty friendly. The uncle serving us was quite humorous and kind.
