SJ Crawfish — Restaurant in San Jose

Found this place nestled in a little plaza close to my bfs house. We were surprised to find a seafood boil place so close! We were happy to find that they had fresh crawfish and relatively similar prices to other places around the area

Upon walking in, there were only a couple other people there so we got seated right as we got through the door. At the table, they lay out the butcher paper, give you gloves and a bib, as well as a paper plate + lemon & pepper. Not a lot of paper towels and tissues.

We ordered the combo #3 (medium spice, house special sauce), which was 2lb freawfudt, 1 lb shrimp? 2 corns and 2 potato, 4 piece sausage. We also got Cajun fries. The fries got there first and we had a few bites before the seafood came out. The crawfish were pretty big, I was able to get s little meat from their claws. Not super worth to get the claw meat, but can try. The shrimp and crawfish were cooked well and had a nice bite to it. The sauce was delicious. I enjoyed it a lot -- had chunks of garlic and such but still saucy. It was flavorful and not toooo oily and had a sweet savory taste. The medium was not spicy , and this is coming from someone who can't handle spicy stuff too much. The potatoes were enough per person. Small potato. The sausage was not a sausage but it was like a hot dog quality. I've had better but next time the sausage not worth getting.

This was good enough for the both of us. We finished the combo but we only finished about half the fries We were so stuffed by the end of dinner

There are two bathrooms but the sinks are inside, so if you only want to wash your hands, you still have to go in.

Overall would definitely come here...

I ate these guys on Sunday June 14th. I can tell you right now I was highly disappointed. I’m from the south so I was expecting something from this place considering they have a bunch of these in the south. Every one of those were great. However this seems like glorified Chinese seafood. I ordered a battered shrimp appetizer. The shrimp are brought out to me still whole skin on and friend and seasoned. So all flavor of the shrimp is going to be peeled off. This should’ve been a red flag to start. I order the combo number three. 2 pounds crawfish, 1 pound shrimp, 1 pound sausage. I ordered it Cajun and medium spice level. It had absolutely no resemblance of Cajun seasoning or flavor. It was very bland. All you could taste was garlic and butter. The quality of the crawfish and shrimp was also in question it tasted off for sure. It was almost like it was frozen. The only reason I’m even making this review is because of how absurd this place is my meal was $70 and I can tell you right now it shouldn’t have been more than $40 because this is just a poor imitation of Cajun boil in a bag restaurants. For anyone that actually thinks this place is Cajun good is sorely mistaken. Don’t. This place just gives Cajun food a bad name. It almost hurts me to have to write a bad review for this place, I have been eating here for 4+ years, since they were boiling crab but then had to change the name ...this has been my favorite Crawfish place for so long but after the service today I will be taking my future business to Crawdaddy, here's a timeline...

2:20pm - Call in my order and told it will be ready in 20 minutes 2:45pm - Show up and told it will be ready in 5 minutes 2:55pm - Random family of 6 comes in and orders dine-in 3:15pm - Random family of 6 gets their food 3:20pm - I FINALLY get my take out order 3:30pm - I miss Superbowl kickoff =(

Horrible experience please fire everyone...
