Jack's Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in San Jose

I haven't been impressed by a restaurant in such a long time. I did not expect for that to change when we went to Jack's. Upon arriving we were greeted and sat right away. The entire place was clean and open. Our Server Agja sp? Was one of the best servers we have ever had. She was so kind. She was very knowledgeable in the menu and able to answer all our questions. We were there in the evening but was still able to answer questions and give suggestions about their breakfast menu as well. From the runner to even the busses were all so friendly and for the first time made us legit feel like family. I ordered the Meatloaf as it's rare to find this on the menu and my Partner ordered a pasta dish that was similar to a favorite he had at a now closed restaurant. We both fell in love with our meals. ABSOLUTELY 100% AMAZING! I go a floMo I think it was called and added peach and even that was perfect. Our first time there and we felt like regulars, now you truly have made us regulars. We cannot wait to try breakfast this weekend and are actually excited about it. This location has been through so many different restaurants and never stay long. We sincerely hope that this one lasts forever. We have lived here for a long time and never truly had a favorite spot until now. This was my first visit to Jack's and I was pleasantly surprised. I heard good things from friends and am glad I took their suggestion as I think I've discovered the most delicious restaurant-made Mac n Cheese out there. I went with the Classic Mac to try first before venturing into their more elaborate Mac options. It did not disappoint.

The Mai Tai I ordered was balanced and flavorful, very well made!

The service was phenomenal as well. Our empty plates were regularly cleared, our waitress was kind and attentive, and even a gentleman who appeared to be the manager assisted with offering a bag for our takeout boxes.

Will definitely be back to try their breakfast!

Update 6/22/2024: First time breakfast at Jack's this morning was pretty good! I wouldn't say the food was on par with their dinner items from what I tried (Swedish Pancakes, Biscuits & Gravy and a side of bacon), but it was certainly pretty solid traditional breakfast fare. The menu is extensive and is sure to satisfy just about any craving. I also appreciate that they offer cottage cheese as one of the default side options.

Heads up local SJ friends!

I am so very disappointed in Jack’s of West San Jose! I’ve tried for 2 weeks to book a partial patio space for an event through corporate and they’ve been dragging it out. I am now 2 days away from my planned event and in desperation I call the restaurant and deal with the manager who is less than helpful.

I have been a loyal customer since they opened and have had literally dozens of events here. I meet with friends frequently for lunch (3x a week sometimes I even and know servers names!) and this has been my “go-to” place since they opened. They have some new “policies” and frankly, they dropped the ball on my event and aren’t willing to be flexible or accommodating.

I now I have to scramble to find another place for my event which is in 2 days.

Zero stars! I will not be coming back and will clear my lunch date schedule of Jack’s altogether and encourage others to do the same.

Horrible customer service!
