RACIST EMPLOYEES An incident that happened at San Jose Airport (Peet’s coffee near Gate 25) on 1/13/2024, around 2:10pm. My wife and I (Asian Americans) were placing an order with an employee as we have experienced racism, terrible service, and psychological and emotional damage that left us scarred because of our race. She was rude to begin with and asked me to repeat my order three times with a nasty attitude and told me “I can’t understand your accent” while making a “what do you want” gesture. I was so shocked by what she said and she didn’t even seem apologetic for the words she spat out. I confronted her for her bad attitude and her rudeness but she didn’t seem to care and left the counter while I was paying for my order. As I walked away to wait for my order, I felt attacked because of my race, I saw another Peet’s employee staring and laughing at me. I was pretty upset at this time because of my encounter with previous employee so I asked him why he was staring and laughing at me. He then told me that he can stare and laugh at whoever he wants to and I shouldn’t be in a public place if I don’t like that. I also confronted him for his attitude and behavior because he was also very rude. I asked him where my order was but he didn’t want to check and told me that I need to tell him what I ordered instead of him checking his order screen or sticker to see what I ordered. He demanded that I tell him what I ordered. I just told him because I was annoyed by his attitude. He didn’t even know how to make the drinks and did whatever he wanted and gave us a wrong drink and didn’t take any responsibility for it other than keep saying that he’s new. I asked for the store manager who was not around, he was at a different store, but he refused to get the manager so I had to go find the manager myself. Everything that happened today was UNACCEPTABLE. It is destroying the name value of Peet’s and I can’t help but think that Peet’s hires those that are so...
   Read moreWow. Worst customer service I’ve ever had. I waited in line, got to the counter, said hi, and the cashier straight up ignored me while chatting with her coworker. Two minutes later she looks at me, randomly accuses me of being rude, and says she’ll help the next customer instead. Then she threatens to call security and a manager… for what? Ordering coffee too politely?
She eventually comes back and pretends to take my order. I ask for a medium pumpkin latte, hot. Simple enough, right? Nope. She keeps grilling me, asking“extra hot?” I say no, just regular hot. Then she asks again if I want hot or iced. At that point I’m like… ma’am, I said I want it regular hot? 🤷🏻‍♀️ out of nowhere again, she just totally lost it and passes me off to another worker.
All this over a cup of coffee. If you can’t handle taking a basic latte order without losing it, maybe the register isn’t the job for you. I left confused, clueless, and honestly feeling bad for anyone else stuck...
   Read moreI might have come on a bad day today. Stood in front of the store around 10:45 in the morning. Around 2 mins front counter girl said she would be with me soon. She walked around to get ingredients in a slow motion like sloth in Zootopia, didn't look like she knew where was what. Waiting her for 5 mins, she was still making some kind of smoothie at first step - pouring juice into the blender... I didn't see anyone around waiting to get their drinks made, just a long line up starting to form after me. Two more guys also look inattentive, slow moving prepping ingredients... I left cause I was not sure how long it would take her more to make that smoothie, and how long after I could get my coffee... basing on the speed I saw, it would not be less than...
