My husband and I stayed the night here on 8/17/22 for an early flight out of SJC the next morning. We chose this hotel because: (1) It's proximity to the airport; (2) The Stay and Fly option to leave our car in their parking lot for $10 a day and; (3) The FREE shuttle service to the airport which we were told started at 4:30am when we booked the room. Well, upon check in, we were told the shuttles don't start until 5am which was too late for us because we were catching a 6am international flight. So, in the end, the free shuttle did not happen and we had to pay for a $20 Uber for the 1.5 miles to the airport at 4:30am the next morning.
That was STRIKE 1 but we quickly got over it since we were heading out on a vacation. We returned 7 days later on 8/24/2022. We grabbed the shuttle at the airport back to the hotel and that is where STRIKE 2 happened: We arrived to no vehicle....Our F-350 Ford Truck was stolen right out of their parking lot which is "security patrolled" at night. There are no cameras in the parking lot and no one knew anything. The staff was shocked and offered us a free night to figure things out in the morning since it was already 10pm and we still had a 2 hour drive home. We declined the room, San Jose PD arrived and took a stolen vehicle report, and we ubered home because we had to get home to kids. And, yes, that uber was expensive.
The story remains long dealing with the truck and my insurance but STRIKE 3 is this: I emailed Hyatt corporate and tried contacting the district manager of the San Jose hotel and I have been avoided. You think they would at least refund us the $60 we paid to park in their hotel parking lot given we just lost our truck in their "security patrolled" parking lot. NOPE! Nothing! I've waiting until now to make this review hoping Hyatt would respond to at least this matter but, again, nothing.
So beware people: Don't use this hotel's Stay and Fly option unless you want your car messed with...
Read moreOutstanding service makes things great! I arrived in the early hours of the morning, slept a few and found a glitch in the function of my room. I talked to the desk agent at 5 AM and she offered me a different room, found one a very short walk from the first room AND helped me move all my stuff. I was sleep deprived, slow and confused - her help and kindness were a HUGE help! Her name was Elaine. When I woke up I discovered I had left my insulin ( cant live without it) in the refrigerator of the first room - the morning desk agent, Jose, found someone from housekeeping to come and let me in to retrieve it right away. What a relief! My blunder could have scrapped this trip without their fast help! The day manager, Rhea was not able to refund that night’s stay since I booked through points from a credit card, so she went the extra mile and got an amenity for my room that was a wonderful help for this trip. Glitches can happen anywhere, and the support of all the staff turned this into a great experience!
The morning breakfast bar was great with lots of delicious healthy options including plenty of fresh fruit, steel cut oats and great coffee. Lots of good stuff for people looking for fun food - waffles, I think I smelled bacon, cheesy egg dish - lots more! Coffee starts at 5 or 530, breakfast at 6.
I used the walking trail that goes by the hotel- lots of flowers in bloom, nice safe area. Only a mile from the airport; a nice Sprouts grocery store a little over a mile away - was a nice stroll for me!
The outdoor pool is lovely. indoor gym is 24 hours- spotless with everything I needed for a good workout - bikes, including peleton, treadmills, free weights, nice pulley set up, a mat, workout bench, bosu, TV with remote, lots of clean towels, space for floor work, mirrors, free earbuds in case your forgot yours. All secure - room key required for access to gym,...
Read moreAfter 2+ previous very positive stays in the past years, this stay was a nightmare... At 5am I felt something crawling on my hand. I found BED BUGS on the pillow and under the pillow.
I immediately closed my pajamas in the laundry plastic bag, showered and went to the front desk to checkout. The hotel staff did not charge anything for my stay and we agreed I would leave my pajamas for laundry service and sanitation.
When I got back the following evening, the staff on duty did not know anything then they found my pajamas in the lost and found wardrobe, in the same bag I had left it in. Nothing had been done and even worse once opened I could see a dead bug on the pajamas.
I left it again at the hotel, asked for laundry service and went to a different Hyatt. The following afternoon I received a phone call informing me that my pajamas was ready. I went back and indeed the pajamas was folded and closed in new plastic bags. I thanked the staff and left.
Once back to my room at the hotel Hyatt near by I opened the bags and discovered that NOTHING had been washed, it was barely folded and the dead bug was STILL on my pajamas in the same spot I noticed it the previous day on the right shoulder.
THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS. Not only BED BUGS but a miscevous behaviour by the front desk staff. NEVER EVER AGAIN AT THE HYATT PLACE SAN JOSE AIRPORT.
I did not even receive a call from the hotel manager to...
