Pizza Guys — Restaurant in San Jose

After years of walking buy Pizza Guys I finally got around to giving them a try. I walked in and ordered a extra large California garlic chicken pizza, comes with a free liter of soda. I was told it would take about 15 min. “ no worries I’ve got time, I walked next door a talked with Angie, the Happy Doughnuts owner” about 20 min later the pizza was ready and was handed to me. “ for an extra large it feels kind of lite, I said to my self” When I got home I opened the box and looked at the pizza for the first time. My initial impression was that it looks really good, I grabbed a slice and it folded over in all it’s soggyness. (1star) The taste? Solid 2.5 stars out of 5 “mediocre” Value? 1 star, way over priced, I ate 3/4 of it by myself “keep in mind it’s an extra large” I can buy a large pizza from one of my favorite pizzerias for less and only eat 3 slices and the taste?, for-get-about-it! “If you know what I mean” In all fairness, they do run a lot of special that brings the price point down but I paid the regular “way over priced” price. So unfortunately 2 Stars is all I could muster up for quality, flavor and overall value. Unfortunately I can not...

I've only been here once, but I expect that I will go again (and update this review accordingly).

Pizza Guys makes good pizza. They have several specialty pizzas, I got the Texas BBQ this time. It wasn't greasy or too doughy or too spicy, but it hit the spot.

The deal that reeled me in was a small card on my front door, that is good for every order of a Large or Extra Large you can get another of the same size or smaller for free. Is is possible to get either a free 2-liter bottle of a soft drink or a free carton of Dreyer's Ice cream, but the deal doesn't pair with the Buy one Get one free deal (and it's only available for pickup).

Only odd thing I found was that although they advertise that Parmesan is available, the Online ordering does not list it as an option (as of 2016.06.07)

The quality of the pizza gets a 4 star, however, the deceiveing practices get 1 star.

I walked into the store and told the guy at the counter that I had seen a special on-line two 2 topping pizzas for 13.99 each.

He tells me oh OK 2 medium. I agreed with him since I did not have the online special in front of me.

By the time we got home I look at the online special again and it says "two 2 topping large pizzas for 13.99 each.

He could have corrected me and said oh yes is two large pizzas.

I'm sure they know the online specials for this area as they get a lot of orders/calls.

The owner or management tean needs to look into this kind of predatory sale practices.
