Cute little bakery cafe in one of San Juan's oldest working class neighborhoods. Walking distance from ocean park, Llorens and barrio obrero. Near casita blanca restaurant. Brick oven from the 1920s! Excellent Cuban sandwich. Will expand menu...local mix bread (pan de agua)....we visited with the owner inside, see the photos. The coffee is excellent!

Addendum a month later The Cuban sandwich...huge and excellent. Fresh shredded pork. Might need more hot pressing depending on your tastes.

Panadería Artesanal Villa Palmeras is the real deal! As a Puerto Rican now chilling in Florida, this spot takes me right back home. Their brick-oven bread is straight-up fire—crusty, fresh, and perfect for a quick sandwich. Got a breakfast sandwich egg and bacon and it was bomb! Place is very clean. Smells soo good. The servers were very attentive and nice. went on a uber driver recommendation for true quesitos on the island like I remember from a Humboldt park bakery. Sadly they do not make quesitos anymore but the breakfasts and traditional sandwiches must be good as they have constant flow of phone and to go orders. Would differently recommend as an alternative to hour wait lines sit down...
