Overall, this place is prettier than it is functional. We stayed in DA2 and were impressed by the decor. We also felt that the location was nice even if most of the restaurants nearby were very overpriced (this is not the fault of Dada Jaja but beware that the Parque/Ocean Park area it is in is still a tourist trap). In regard to the room itself, we had three people. Two took the queen bed and one took the convertible full sofa bed. The sofa bed was quite comfortable but expect to hear a lot of noises—engines revving, music, etc.—even at night. If you plan to sleep on the sofa bed, also keep in mind that the sounds of rain and thunder are amplified in the living area. The biggest issue we had was with plumbing. We were told to conserve water because Dada Jaja uses its own reserve. On the second day, the reserve ran out of water and we could not use any water. Without knowing this, we tried to flush the toilet. The pipes began to thud and clank. These sounds continued throughout the night. We lost almost a full night of sleep because of it. The issue continued throughout the day, but luckily they sent someone to resolve it. When we arrived, we noticed that the floors were dirty. The sink in the bathroom is especially difficult to open and close and the toilet seat was practically falling off. If you are looking for a place to take pictures, Dada Jaja is it. If you are looking for a place to sleep and shower, we suggest you go elsewhere. Be aware that this place runs more like an Airbnb than a hotel. There is never anyone in charge on the premises, however, there is a messaging system you can use to communicate with them if you ever need anything and responses come pretty fast. Check in and check out...
Read moreI don’t usually leave reviews but this hotel was exceptional in every way. I loved every part of my stay:
Room: We booked JA2 after seeing photos of the beautiful private kitchen. The room was designed with so much love, and the furnishings go together very harmoniously. The space is very well thought out — hooks near the door and next to the sink, space for luggage and a desk for working. If you enjoy thoughtful design, Dada Jaja is perfect for you.
Service: Staff are available through text, even if none stay on property. We asked them questions before and during the stay through text and they gave us amazing recommendations for beaches to swim in, etc. We also needed more towels after using some at the beach and someone showed up with towels within half an hour of our text. They go above and beyond at every step of the stay.
Location: The hotel is a
Read moreI booked a one night stay at DaDa JaJa when travel plans abruptly changed. I booked through chase travel and the wires seemed to get crossed somewhere and I did not receive check in instructions. I called the number on the line and they answered promptly and helped me get the check in information.
I was able to check myself in and get settled quickly. The room was smaller than I anticipated, but it was very cute and well decorated. The website was not extremely clear that my room only had an outdoor shower, nothing inside. I also found it was si they did not have a mirror in the bathroom. These are minor qualms that are easily fixed although.
The room itself felt slightly dirty and the cement floors seemed to always have a small layer of dust, first, or sand.
I loved the location as it was very close to Calle Loiza. I walked to a small cafè and enjoyed the scenery on the way there and back. There were lots of restaurants, bars, and shops that would be great at any time of day.
Mostly a positive stay with a cute room where I felt safe. I would recommend, but know that it is much more like an air bnb rather...
