La Esmeralda PR — Hotel in San Juan

The customer service and hospitality of the property management staff was impeccable. The process of booking directly on their website was very smooth. Before and after making a reservation, and during my stay, any questions I had were answered very quickly and courteously.

The Rental Unit: All units are enclosed inside a locked, gated site. My unit had a nicely designed layout. There is plenty of counter space in the kitchen and bathroom. Combined kitchen and living room space was a good size, and the bathroom very large. The bedroom is also large and cozy. The AC unit in the bedroom is very powerful. The WiFi was easy to connect to, reliable and super fast.

Location: The units are a short walk to beaches with sweeping ocean views, where residents and visitors relax on a narrow beachfront. There is a small stand offering limited services, and a woman giving salsa lessons each evening. Ocean Park is a lively neighborhood. Prepare for typical neighborhood sounds - light construction, dogs barking, car radios. Pack some earplugs if you are a light sleeper. My only concern was walking the route to the two nearest grocery stores (heading away from the beach). Although I never felt in danger, it is not a nice area to pass through. Not a concern if you have access to a car.

For starters.... The customer service is excellent here. Prior to arrival I had many issues. I called and Everytime I called someone answered and without hesitation answered all of my questions and made me feel at ease. They are truly the reason I'll even give this place 3 stars. The unit was well equipt . Had all the essential needs of home. However air conditioning was a huge issue. The bedroom had a unit but the rest of the apartment was blazing hot. The bedroom had no TV but the family room did but it was impossible to watch as there was no AC unit. Cleanliness was also concerning. There were spider webs everywhere and the unit smelled of a dirty mop. The garden was tranquil but the pond was full of mold and moss. And last but not least the neighborhood is horrible. Trash everywhere homeless people on every corner and scary! I'm sure I'll never...

This place is so underrated! at first I was trying to book with their dream inn hotel which is nicer however they had no space available so they recommended me this one. At first I hesitated not sure I would like it, but the customer service was so good (joey) I think is his name so booked it. The place is like a very nice simple home. it had a living room kitchen and even a little patio in the back. yes it was hot, but is Puerto Rico what do people expect? lol the room did have a great air conditioner so we slept comfortable. overall it was awesome and though everything was clean. If your a simple guy like me that just wants a quiet comfortable place to sleep because lets be real vacation is to go have fun and explore not stay in the place all day then this is the place for you.. I would highly recommend it and I will book again if I come back...
