I am an English-speaking tourist. The waitresses look very tired and uninterested, which I understand because it was around 12:30AM.
I took a while to study the menu. When the waitress approaches, I told her that I needed more time. She said that’s it’s okay. But what she did was just standing there and wait for me. (O_O) Ok not weird at all. Oh btw water was not served the whole time I was there.
I ordered the conch ceviche. It was very flavorful and tasty. For my main dish, I got the grouper fillet platter with monfongo. They provided a pink sauce and a chimichurri sauce. The chimichurri sauce tastes a lil strange, like the tinge of dirty dish washing sponge. The tomato slice on my salad has a black (likely moldy) spot. Notably, I found a parasite in between my grouper fillet. (As a master in bio major who likes to read about parasites, I am pretty confident about this). It’s not dangerous because parasites are easily killed by cooking. However, regardless of my passion for learning about parasites, I really don’t anticipate to see any on my plate. Hence, I did not finish it and ordered dessert. I got a flan. The flan was fine, but the liquid under the flan both smell and taste sour and fermented (not in a good way).
I don’t want any trouble and the waitresses are not very good at English so I didn’t say anything.
All in all, I don’t think this restaurant is a worthy choice. I got that I encountered a parasite outside of lab though. Fun stuff.

Read moreI came here because I was famished and needed to eat and drink to get out of the heat. I ordered a shrimp cocktail, tostones, and a piña colada with rum. The food and drinks were good but when I asked for the bill, she didn't bring me a receipt. Only told me it was $28. Ridiculous for the amount of food I got. I didn't even want to bother arguing with the waitress because it seemed like she just really didn't even care to be there. The service was the worst I've had in a while. My shrimp cocktail was just 6 or 7 shrimps thrown on a styrofoam plate with a few onions and peppers. For $10 bucks it was very little food and not worth it. And I can only imagine she charged me $15 for a piña colada that I asked for with house rum. It's only $6 on the menu so the up charge of $9 for house rum doesn't make sense to me. If I was at an upscale restaurant with great service, I'd be glad to pay. But for a place like this, I'd much rather spend my...
Read moreThis was an unexpected stop. My aunt told me I must try something here. I wasn't hungry when I stopped here but the place looked nice enough to check it out. It was a party of four and each of us got an appetizer. I had the vaso de pulpo ( cup of octopus salad) it was DELICIOUS! Fresh, not drenched in oil, and a good balance of Italian green pepper, onions and octopus. I also tried a bite of what everyone else ordered; Conch salad, King Krab and Seviche. They were all good. In order, I liked Conch, octopus, seviche and king Krab salads. We had beer with that. The service was on point. It was clean and inviting. Glad I stopped while I was visiting the island.
I don't think the King Krab was the real thing, I think it's the imitation Krab meat. Based on my observation, I think that's standard through out the island. They don't specify that...
