So we went for lunch at Pollos Scharneco in Miramar which just opened. The place is trending and it's pretty cool looking and the ambinace is awesome. We came in hungry, famished without any breakfast because we wanted to try the complete menu. We ordered: a chicken sandwich, chicken box (1/4 chicken with fries), 1/4 lbs carne frita with arroz con gandules (rice with pigeon peas), 1/4 lbs porchetta with a side of mac & cheese and a banana and papaya shake. The chicken sandwich was the bomb! It was crispy, well seasoned and juicy. The artisan bun and the toppings were excellent and complemented the sandwich perfectly. The 1/4 lbs chicken was also really good. The roasted chicken was succulent, juicy and perfectly cooked. The fries were hand cut fries, also very good, lightly salted and not greasy. In my opinion, the porchetta was the best overall protein, it's the best I ever had in Puerto Rico. It was crunchy on the outside, juicy on the inside and seasoned to perfection, but above all the fat had rendered perfectly making it lean yet juicy at the same time. The mac & cheese on the other hand were creamy but a little bit heavy and over seasoned. The carne frita, had awesome flavor but it was too salty and a little too greasy, it swam in oil. The rice with pigeon peas was excellent, the flavor was on par, but it had so much grease that after we ate it, there was a pool of oil in the bottom. If this could be fixed, it would be one of the best rice with pigeon peas in the Island. On the other hand, the shake was a horrible dissapointment. It was watered down milk with too much ice and barely any fruit. Overall the place has great potential, with an excellent location but I would only recommend it if you were...
Read moreI would give 0 stars if i could. My boyfriend and I stopped here to get a drink after doing an hour of walking and i had to use the rr. When i went in the restroom there was toilet paper in the toilet that i tried to flush but it didn’t go down. I proceeded to use it still because i had to go and tried to flush again after using it and again it wouldn’t go down. We left there and came to the food truck park across the street and a worker literally followed us here to tell me that i shouldn’t have put toilet paper in the toilet because i clogged it up and now he has to fix it. I apologized and asked him what does he want me to do about it and he just said not to put toilet paper in the toilet. But how rude to pull me and my partner to the side and tell me that. Do NOT...
Read moreI went to this restaurant for lunch and the food was outstanding! I ordered the chicken empanada con mayo ketchup, coleslaw on a roll, it was delicious! I also ordered onion, cucumber and tomato salad and it was soooo good! The food was very filling and well done and prepared! The service was fast, friendly and well equipped. The place was very clean and the music that was playing was authentic Puerto Rican music, Hector Lavoe, Tito Puente, etc! It was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend this place for the food and...
