There is nothing wrong with the food, but with the service. I've been to this place 5 times, and I only ask for the flourless chocolate lava cake to go. 3 out of those 5 times, they did not give me the whip cream that comes with the cake. After the 1st time I bought from there, they told me the whip cream is no longer included, which is fine. I made sure to specifically ask for the whip cream after my 2nd visit onwards. Last night I came and bought 2 cakes and 3 whip creams. I get home, and they do not have the whip cream. I had to wait til the next day (they were closed by the time I got home) to return the cakes because I did not want it without the cream. They refused to exchange them for new cakes. Then, after arguing, they gave me a refund but refused to sell. After a while, the co-owner spoke to me on the phone and gave me attitude. After so long of arguing, they finally agreed to sell me the cakes. I checked it before leaving, and they gave me the same cakes that I had just returned and just warmed them up a little bit. I asked them, and they refused to acknowledge that. I got tired of this entire situation and just left the cakes there and left without a refund. I never leave reviews like this, I've never been treated this way at an establishment.
Edit to answer the reply: I paid for a new order and was given the old order I had returned to your staff that had been out all night at my home. The tiktok comment you are referring to is called sarcasm by my own part. I would pay for the whip cream, that wasn't an issue. The issue was that I would ask for it right there when ordering and no one would charge me for it nor give to me in the order....
Read moreWell, Their eggplant parmigiana was world class. (years ago when I first got it, they claimed to somehow prepare it withOUT canola oil) however more recently they've told me this is "not possible" (because the canola oil is already mixed into some critical ingredients..) so (for people who prefer to avoid genetically altered foods +heart lesions -which are known to be caused by canola oil..) then I don't know what to tell you. It is a shame to see such an amazing presentation, of something so delicious, (because the PRESENTATION is still world class) but with genetically altered ingredients.. Though most of San Juan restaurants have the same problem. Go down to Condado Ave +walk into the most expensive restaurants U can find and ask them what type of oil they use.. U will be shocked, (+if U understand the importance of un-refined, non GMO oil.. Uwill quickly leave..) but ultimately the fault is that of the consumer, (because not enough people REQUEST anything better.) Most people don't even ASK what they are being served, they just walk in +eat it.. This (lack of awareness of the consumer) is the real problem. If people in greater numbers demanded that the food they were being served was not genetically modified.., then the restaurants would eventually listen because they would want to keep their customers. but until the general public wakes up a bit more.. I will continue to...
Read moreI enjoyed this place when it used to be in Condado. Unfortunately, once it re-opened in Miramar, the prices went up and the place lost its soul. Now with Covid it seems to have gotten worse. To start, the waitress informed us that they had no menus and we had to use our cell phones to scan a QR code...not even in fast food or no service restaurants are you required to use your cell phone to receive their services. As we were about to leave, we see a table of senior citizens with laminated menus. We asked the other server on duty for menus and he gave them to us. But this was not our last surprise, THEY REFUSE TO SERVE TAP WATER and only offer bottled Fiji water! No need to get mad at a waiter who's probably making $4.00 an hour for management's decisions but definitely 2 good reasons not to go back. COVID is not an excuse to not provide menus, at all good restaurants dedicated to providing an exceptional customer experience menus are provided, especially when you are charging a premium for wraps and sandwiches!!! Even the top fine dining restaurants like Marmalade and 1919 offer tap water before and during...
