Google has this place rated at 3.5 stars & I have read over half of one and two star reviews over the past couple years, so I’m not sure how the ratings are calculated but here’s my experience..
I went for the lunch buffet on Saturday,&😱 The shrimp is fried whole with the head and digestion tract still attached. There was no type of crab meat available. The mussels still had hairy grit in the middle(improperly cleaned) And so over cooked they barely would pry away from the shell with a fork And fried smelt.. really? Those were the seafood options… &The sushi was repulsively stale.
The only two deserts provided was very dry and flaky like with barely any sweetness. Almost like dusty texture. The other option was to dip out some chocolate pudding dumped into a metal bowl or eat under ripened cantaloupe or citrus slices. The only foods that were prepared the best was the fried chicken, mashed potatoes, vegetables, and beef tips. However, I’ve seen much better quality food in a TV dinner.
Additionally I usually do not go here …but I had a problem with an aggressive waitress who First kept questioning me if I was even supposed to be there when I had already paid, and was following me around and antagonizing me. also the waitress continuously reached over my friends plates to keep grabbing plates that she was still trying to decide if she wanted to eat them or not.
So if you’re just hungry and just want to be able to eat a bunch of unclean anything with in the two hour time limit and receive hostile service… Then come to this buffet. I was invited here .. because normally I have passed the property and never had a desire to even go in there. however now after this experience, I definitely will never come back...
Read moreStay far away from this place. I do not usually leave reviews but first off, the menu sucks. The macaroni is super watery and unflavored, the only decent things there was the sushi, clams and mussels. Right when I got in I asked for orange juice and got orange soda. When I told her I asked for orange juice she said they didn’t have any juices. I asked what they had that wasn’t soda, she said water and tea. Then she refilled my son’s sprite and brought it back and it was brown. I asked her what she gave him, she said sprite. I held the visibly yellow liquid in the light and asked again what it was in the cup, she said sometimes that liquids cross. I said ok so it’s mixed with another soda ? That’s not sprite then. She comes back with sprite and says next time for me to go and get it myself cus she doesn’t have to be nice. Mind you, I was not taking a tone or anything I was simply stating the very obvious, second, she offered to bring him a sprite and what she brought was not sprite. We were there all but 15 minutes, I got up and just wanted to leave and asked for my money back, they said no hat because we already had a plate, we couldn’t get our money back. I’m getting my money back from my bank but I do not recommend this place to anyone else unless you have a very simple pallet and...
Read moreOysters are amazing here. They are fresh, generously large, succulent, and perfectly cooked. They’re also replenished at a high rate which is amazing. The oysters alone makes the price 100% worth it. In my opinion, in terms of just seafood, they are the best buffet in the East Bay. Also, I’ve been to the best gourmet buffets in Las Vegas, and even though they had amazing crab, sushi, and dessert not one of them had oysters.
The Chinese style oysters are one of a kind and even though the decor of the restaurant is lacking, the other Chinese vegetables and seafood dishes were very delicious. A specialty they have that my Chinese friends have noted is that the sweet potatoes are genuinely made and taste amazing as well. Customer service is very friendly. Overall, if you love seafood especially oysters, pay a visit! I visited on a Sunday for lunch but am not sure if they offer oysters every day, so call and check.
I cannot vouch for anything that is not either Chinese seafood or vegetable dishes, but I recommend avoiding carbs and fried food in general when visiting...
