Café Sorriso — Restaurant in San Leandro

I came for the Vietnamese coffee (which should have been free) and Vietnamese sandwich but it was breakfast time and I only had the Vietnamese coffee with a bagel. First off, the bagel had mold. She tried to deny it at first then upon closer inspection she agreed to replace it and blamed it on Costco (since that’s where they get their bagels from). As a business owner or cook, shouldn’t you check that the food you are serving is not expired or molded? Also, this location put up an add on the newspaper saying there was a free drink included with your order of food. She did not give me the drink for free. It just felt like a dishonest experience with poor food quality. It’s unfortunate because it’s a great location with a calm atmosphere having the option to sit inside or outside. I met one of my favorite vendors here for a cup of coffee near the end of the day to go over some critical issues and do a little midterm planning.

At the time, neither of us realized the store closes at 5. In retrospect, this should have been apparent by the fact that nobody greeted us when we entered and they offered to make me an Americano when I ordered a standard cup of coffee. Clearly, they didn't want to make a new pot and are not set-up to do a "pour-over".

This looks like a great place. The food looks good, the decor is fun and I'm guessing they do a far better job in the morning (and probably at lunch). It's a small coffee place just opposite the Safeway store. The traffic around it is pretty busy (during the day), so if you don't like that, rather sit inside. The place is cosy (there are normal seats and there are couches). They have Free Wi-Fi and the outdoor seating is under some sort of a roof so you won't be sunburned and that way you can spend more of your time there.

Their teas are okay, I haven't tried the food (they have lunches and a sweet shelf by the counter). Staff is nice and quick with ordering (sometimes too quick if you are unable to decide).

To me they are not really a daily go-to place, I only come here if I have a date or have to wait for somebody (cause most people know where...
