I drove my way to San Leandro to try a Filipino restaurant, which serves several types of silogs (Filipino breakfast). I heard that they’ve been in business for at least a few years now. I can see that they took a modern approach to make the restaurant look nice despite being a fast food chain. I like how the menu displays the food along with the title, description, and price. Also, they don’t accept cash as payment even though that you decide to order from the cashier and the kiosks ask us to do so. I decided to order Sisigsilog because of how unique it looks with the sauces they used. Really tastes good and the portion amount is appropriate, not too big and not too small. Sisig has a unique taste most likely because of the sauces they added. Egg yolk is quite ready and the garlic rice tastes normal. I did take out because traffic will get worse during the afternoon. They have a website where we can find different locations of it. For now, San Leandro is the only one that has that restaurant in the Bay Area when looking for others. I hope that they added more locations of it around or near Fremont for convenience since that’s where I live.

Quick tasty food. I enjoyed the Bansilog and lumpia. My kid likes the fried chicken and pineapple drink. We tried the halohalo drink it was nice if you like boba 🧋. It had an interesting mixed of jellies, beans, coconut, ice cream, milk and shaved ice. I don't like the texture of boba so no for me but it wasn't bad at all. Definitely a preference.

It was my first time here and unfortunately “the liemposilog” did not taste like liempo more like pork chops to me and also the rice just tasted off. I do wanna add that their lumpia tasted very bland and could use some more flavouring. Place looks clean and very aesthetically pleasing but their food needs a few more flavouring.

Located just off the 880 Washington st exit is Tapsilog express. They have another locatino I believe on Foothill in Hayward.

I tried both the Tosliog $7.45- Cured Sweet pork Adobosilog $7.95- Pork marinated in garlic

Both were pretty good but not great by any means. I like the fact that there are more Filipino spots popping up but this place is definitely 3 stars for me and not a place I'd go out of my way to visit.

Service was friendly and after order the food came out in 10-15 minutes.

If you like my reviews, consider "following" my profile for reviews all across the SF Bay Area. Why "follow" someone? It causes the person you follow's reviews to tier to top when you pull up a business. I find this very handy when researching venues. Also have a link on my profile page to my newly created gram.

Rod's Review grading scale explained. Essentially I personally base it on the likelihood of a return visit and I try to be stingy with 5 star reviews since they should be "special" in my eyes. Price/Value also play a role. Just because a steak is $75 doesn't make it a 4 or 5 star venue nor does a $1 taco unless it's delicious.

5 stars - "I'll go out of my way" (approx 6 % of my reviews) 4 stars- "If I was in the area I'd go here and would recommend", (approx 38% of my reviews) 3 stars "Maybe if was nearby", (approx 37% of my reviews) 2 stars -"Would likely not return, Only if you want to go", (approx 16% of my reviews) 1 star -"No thanks, even if I was hungry", (approx. 3 %...

Tapsilog Express, you will always have a special place in my heart, and I'm not just talking about the grease left behind by all your food.

This is the comfort food that leaves your belly full but your wallet happy whether it is 1am on a Saturday night or Sunday when you're hungover the next day. All the dishes come with your choice form of protein, garlic rice, egg, and a lonely slice of tomato. The garlic rice has been better since the place opened but no silog meal would be complete without it. Service is usually quick but they have their occasional rushes where you question whether you could have made it yourself faster. The halo-halo here is legit and does satisfy your sweet tooth. If you find that you are extra hungry, add an extra egg... or heck, order...
