The food was really good, this is my second try dining in. No reservation needed, but I get there as soon as they open because it gets crowded specially on weekends. I have been trying sushi places and this is the one I love the most. The nigiri toro is amazing as well as the seared salmon nigiri and squid nigiri. I have will attach some of the picture I was able to take since it was so good I immediately grab my food cause I couldn’t waste great food for a picture (LOL). The miso soup is great for appetizer, I sat at the bar where is was the most service I could get (the restaurant is low on servers, they are looking to hire) I was patient and understating I waited patiently, the chef even gave us a complimentary meal. Which is why the 4 star. The environment in the restaurant needs work; in cleaning overall and organization in their storage spaces. And the bathroom could be better. I recommend to try their sushi because despite everything it is worth it and the price is really good. I hope you enjoy your dinner and try their nigiri dishes. Update: I keep visiting this restaurant and it is my to go sushi place whenever I’m in SLO. I love it!! I added more pictures of my latest visit. My favorite nigiri are...
Read moreFairly large to go order ($100, 6 or 7 rolls) on a rather busy Saturday night. Ordering was smooth and simple from their website (so refreshing when they've got a restaurant managed online order), but it's time estimate was off by at least 20 minutes (took 1 hour, it gave 40m). This is totally understandable for such a large order on a busy night.
The food is super solid, some was great! California rolls were exactly what we wanted, special rolls are well balanced and consistent and the yellowtail Nigiri fish was a perfect texture and flavor. Worth noting that the yellowtail Nigiri at least had flying fish roe on it without being listed on the online menu so ask for it to be omitted if that's not to your liking. The prices were so so great and really puts arigato at the top of the more budget sushi offerings in SLO. My time waiting in the restaurant gave me a good look at the warm, dimly lit, casual atmosphere, that wasn't too loud or quiet. Can't wait to come back for more and try...
Read more0 star service. Server brought us the wrong roll, one with cream cheese, and 2 of my friends are lactose intolerant. As we began to eat it, we had suspicion that it was the wrong roll because we didn't order something with cream cheese, so we asked the two servers about it. When we did, they both smiled and looked at each other like it was a joke, and then told us that it was indeed the wrong roll. They both knew since the beginning that we got the wrong roll, and played it off hoping that we wouldn't notice their mistake. They really didn't understood the seriousness of the situation, as my friends could have had bad reactions to eating the roll if we didn't notice so soon. Additionally, the food today seemed to not be fresh, and definitely didn't taste as good as the previous times I've been here. Sad to see a once good restaurant...
