Chicho’s — Restaurant in San Luis Obispo

My wife and I wanted to celebrate my birthday on May 29th at Taco Roco. We knew it was a holiday so we went to Taco Roco on Friday May 26 to ask if they would be open because of the holiday and we even asked if could bring a cake and seat in the back patio at 5pm. They said no problem and yes we will be OPEN! Well, Sorpresa!! my family and I arrived at 4:40 only to find out that they closed at 3pm. The next day I went in to speak with Narsi the owner but he was not there, they ask for my name and phone number to be contacted by the owner but nobody called me yet today is June 3. I wanted to talk to the owner before posting my review but after a few attempts with no answer I've decided to post this not so positive review. Nothing against the food because we eat there all of the time but I think that communication fell big time! At the end we decided to go back home and order take out from Olive Garden.

Over the years tons of restaurants have come and gone in San Luis Obispo. That's par for the course in a tourist/college town. But Taco Roco is a long time Mexican staple in town. They have excellent options in a wide variety. And you'll find everything at a great price. They have a couple of locations in the area. This particular one has converted a few parking spaces into a park lit where you can eat outdoors and they have indoor dining as well and a small patio. They're tacos are fantastic but this time I got the enchiladas and they were great as well. Highly recommend if you're ever looking for Mexican...

It's been several years since I've been here. When I lived down the street this was a go to spot and always got a Downtown Burrito. They went downhill for a bit with their other (since closed) location on santa Rosa.

But they have done a great job making super fresh food. The food is better than ever and they make it how you want. Their menu only said breaded fish but we asked if they could do grilled.
