We had our first experience at Mama’s Meatballs earlier this week. We did not know what we were going to expect walking in but boy were we happy we stumbled across this local gem! We were surprised at the wonderful customer service and quality of food that we received. The staff was very welcoming and knowledgeable in menu and wine selections and guided us in the right direction. We had chicken fettuccine and lasagna along with the calamari appetizer and Caesar salad finished with an order of freshly made cannolis. Oh! And a bowl of their homemade garlic bread bites! You want some of those for sure! Don’t be surprised at how quickly you become addicted to those delicious bites of doughy goodness! Melt in your mouth good! The food was 10 out of 10 excellent fresh quality ingredients with amazing taste and flavor. Wines were a great selection and paired wonderfully with our meal. We started off with a glass of Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon Blanc. Which paired perfectly with our calamari appetizer that was served with homemade marinara and house tartar sauce. Our entrees were delicious! My fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken was super good! The lasagna was so flavorful and not too pasta heavy. We paired our main entrees with a glass of Tolosa Pinot Noir and Lone Madrone Syrah. The cannolis were the best that I’ve ever had!
Kudos to the team at Mama’s Meatballs for a job well done! We look forward to seeing you again soon! Dying to try their pasta carbonara and a pizza! Thank you Damien and Kursat for a memorable experience! You two were so welcoming and it honestly made all the difference! What a beautiful touch to an amazing dinner!...
Read moreArea is under construction, so hard to find and parking is on the street. Looks like a casual sit down eatery, but with high end restaurant prices. We ordered the spaghetti and meatballs for $16, and you get a small serving of sauce with meat in it, two small meatballs, and a small amount of noodles. The noodles were drowning in the sauce, and for this dish to work, you really needed about twice the amount of noodles that were served. Also, when you order meatballs, you don't want them drowning in meat sauce, you typically expect meatless sauce so the meatballs are highlighted, instead, the meatballs just blend in. The meatballs were nothing special, with no special flavor or seasoning, they tasted like they were frozen out of a bag, something I could put together myself. The noodles were not homemade pasta, which for a $16 entree you would expect better pasta, not what tastes like comes from a box. Then, the final straw of disappointment were the garlic knots. They were rock hard and seemed as if you could throw them against the wall and they would make a loud knocking sound. The waitress assured us they were made fresh daily, and that was an outright lie. These were days old. So, all in all, Mama would...
Read moreThe food is good. I would have given it 4 or more stars, except for a few things:
The first time we went there, we never received their little garlic bread balls from the waiter. Then we noticed that everyone else was getting them....after we ate, so I asked for some. I mean, why did the guy forget to bring us some of these delicious treats, when he provided them to all of his other tables.
It was a cold day, and we were seated by the door. Every time the door opened, we received a blast of cold air. I had to get up several times to close the door, since this was not high on the waiter's list of priorities. Also, they never "enforced" the door closures, so you would get these people in jackets standing in the doorway, half in and half out, with the door open. I had to go tell a them a couple of times to close the door! Even when we asked the waiter to keep an eye on things, we were exposed to the cold way to many times to be enjoyable.
Overall, the food was actually pretty good. We have to get the meatball dishes, since they were what the restaurant was named after, and we...
