I went to MilkT Society with a group. We used the self-serve kiosk to order. There weren’t any pictures of drinks, a few drinks had names that didn’t tell you much about what they contained, and numerous things were out of stock. There wasn’t a lot of drinks I personally like on their menu (like strawberry black tea, for example. I have a pretty particular taste), and $5 for a small size isn’t great considering other places have bigger sizes for the same price. I had low expectations.
Our drinks came out pretty quickly, one by one. Some of them weren’t mixed well, but other than that, the drinks were really good and the boba was high quality. Additionally, the atmosphere is cute and post-worthy. The employee was also kind, and let us move some chairs and tables for a group photo, which he took for us.
Overall, I would have given this place 3-stars, but as a one-time stop for boba on a vacation in SLO, it was really not that bad. The service might’ve been the one thing saving it from a 3,...
Read moreIt hurts to make this review but I have never been disrespected at this establishment before. In the many times I’ve been here, MilkT has always provided kind and quick service. Today at 5:30pm, the cashier not only did not acknowledge me as I walked in but misplaced/didn’t even make my order. The cashier was unprofessional as she was talking to what seems like her friend (who was just a customer mind you) at the cash register for about 20 minutes. I was at first waiting in line for her friend to order, which she did, and then they just kept talking in front of the kiosk, preventing me from placing an order. I let this slide and proceeded to wait for my order. 30 minutes pass by and they’re making doordashes right as the dasher comes, and also other patron’s orders that have came in after me. I never received my order and quite frankly, will not tolerate this neglectfulness and disrespect....
Read moreThis place needs to get their stuff together, and then they'd be a great place. Their tea is moderately ok, but they try to compensate for it by pouring in bags of sugar. They open themselves to comparison by being next to Milk in it, which serves overall better boba less than 200 feet away. Staff was friendly, but the atmosphere was wrong. There were boxes everywhere, and the interior design of the place was off. A sickly smell filled the interior (maybe the honey boba?) which was enough to evacuate me from the premises quickly. Ok boba, but in an oversaturated market, some places...
