Budget Inn San Luis Obispo — Hotel in San Luis Obispo

Gross.... filthy. The room smells like body odor of a person who didn't shower for 2 weeks and then spray a chemical as perfume to mask the odor. The red room smells exactly how it looks. This is not for a person who would like to rest. I think this inn is made for some kind of past time pleasure. Everything is broken, sticky and gross. There are people in the parking lot smoking marijuana and they are not even checked in there. The employees and service is budget quality. The lady who checked me inn Nov 2 was lazy. She gave me key and it didn't work. I have to go down and change it. It didn't work still. The third time I had to go down, she treated me like I don't know how to open doors and it did turn out someone was in there that was supposed to be checked out that morning but they didn't know that he is still there and that was 8pm. What a broken system. She gave me a different room and said that she will bring the key to me. Guess what, after half an hour I have to go down myself and pick up my key and didn't even said sorry and act like she didn't do anything wrong. That morning Nov.4 this housekeeper just opened my door even though I am not checked out yet. I am changing my clothes and didn't respect my privacy. I told her my CO is 1130. I told the lady who checked me in that I will check out 11:30. Obviously they don't have communication. After 20 minutes she came back and that is the second time that I told her that my check out time is 11:30. She doesn't speak and understand English and can't understand a simple 11:30. and then she pull up ther phone and do this translator thing and I was like I am not pulling this communication barrier stunt. She was so obsessed to take my room when they didn't even know someone was checked in there the other night who was supposed to. It was so annoying and such a horrible experience that they will hire people that doesn't speak english. It is so hard,annoying and disgusting place. Really loud I cannot get a rest. Respect yourself a little bit. Do not check in here. Do not spend your hard earned money in a place like this. You deserve better. There are bed bugs and flies inside the room. The whole city was booked because of the spartan event so I am left with no choice. The water by the way smells like acid. It was a scary place. I slept with chair near the door knob so no one can get...

We found cockroaches in our hotel room and I killed 5 of them within a span of 30 minutes. I know there were more that we didn't find either.

The manager (guy named Patel) was creepy and gave me stalker vibes. As a woman, I felt uncomfortable by the comments and questions he was asking me at check in. Then, he followed me to the parking lot and stood there and watched me unload my car and go into the hotel room. I took a walk later that night with my dog and noticed he was watching me when I went back into the hotel room.

The room itself was in terrible condition. I didn't mind it since I knew it was a "budget" inn, however, what I did mind was that it was so DIRTY. Towels were stained, sheets had red spots like blood, floor boards were filthy. I didn't even shower.

Upon check out I told the manager about the cockroaches and he blamed me as if I should've called him about them earlier. He refused to give me a partial refund.

Worst hotel experience I've had to date. BEWARE. Find yourself a better place. I can't believe I paid $150...

Room smelled terrible, it smelled like raw sewage and really bad water damage combined. I had to try and sleep with a shirt over my face, my face against my pillow and a blanket over me just because I could not handle the smell - it was so overpowering that I barely got any sleep in.

The bathroom is just covered in mold - you see the mold embedded inside the drywall ceiling and you see mold on the walls above the window and the grouting around the tub and the window trimmings and so on.

A portion of the wall looked like it was destroyed / demolished and they just decided to do a crappy patch job with a piece of wood or drywall and 2 screws - a wide gap was left behind and I can literally see the light from the room next to us - how secure & presentable.

Really, just pay the extra $20-30 elsewhere for peace of mind, security and comfort.

Also the attendant that night was just very rude and kept going off about our dog and how he’ll check the room for pee marks and complain to Expedia about it - our dog is cleaner and smells better than this place,...
