Time arrived - 4pm on a Saturday (not busy).

Party of 4

First and foremost, the service during our visit was horrible. When I first walked in, it took the staff about to minutes to acknowledge I was even standing there (after they were done looking at their phones).

Once I was able to be added to the list the wait time was fairly short - only took about 8 minutes for the text to come thru on my phone informing me the table was ready.

My wife, 2 kids and I were seated and our waiter immediately came to take our drink orders (did not provide his name- later found out his name is Adrian our receipt).

My wife, daughter and I ordered unsweetened tea while my son ordered Sprite. We received our drinks but there was no sugar provided (or any on the table). My wife also noticed there was a lipstick stain on her glass.

When we were finally able to get our waiter's attention - we informed him of the tainted cup and our lack of sugar. We responded, "oh ok", took my wife's glass and headed off into the kitchen.

He returned moments later with few packets of sugar and a new glass of tea - only this time there was no ice. When asked why, the waiter replied, " I could of sworn I heard 'no ice'... be right back" before walking away again.

After about 10 minutes (and several passes from the waiter) we still did not receive the cup of Ice and we assumed our waiter just forgot our request - so we had to remind him once again and he finally returned with the cup of ice.

The service didn't improve from there - we had to request silverware for the table once our food arrived and both times we requested refills for our drinks our server Adrian appeared to be annoyed by the request.

On the plus side, the food didn't take long to come out. We all ordered burgers that were seasoned well (and the fries were great!).

If you can make it past the "service" staff, there's some potentially good food to be had here, it's just not worth the hastle for me personally given that there are many other restaurant choices in the area. Would not...

The rating is mostly for the horrible service. I'll start by saying the pasta I ordered was pretty good. The meat wasn't blackened/cajun seasoned, but at least it wasn't tough. The fries were good--I believe they were sweet potato waffle fries. We walked in and no one greeted us. Then when someone finally addressed us, it was about 6-7 ppl (including a 'supposed-to-be' manager) that took longer than it should've to seat us. When the guy sat us he wasn't friendly & rudely stated what time they closed as if we didn't know. When the waitress finally came to take our order she didn't inform us that they were 'supposedly' out of bread that goes with the pasta (even though I think they just didn't want to give us any). She (I believe her name was cynthia) maybe came back once to check on us after we got our food. Then when we asked to speak with a manager (that took another 10mins or so as I'm sure the waitress was trying to give her side of the story). When the manager came to the table we realized it was the same lady that was at the front when we first arrived who didn't greet us and acted as if they were so busy or like it takes more than 5 people to figure out and seat 3 people. After we nicely mentioned what occurred she had the audacity to say she would give us 10% off (as if that was really doing something 🙄😅). To add to the horrible service, the same guy that sat us brought some other people to a table next to us but was very friendly with them and didn't rudely say what time they closed (probably knew them). If it was worth talking to someone over that location I would, but I'll just make sure to never go...

After being tired of fast food and not so satisfactory quality of good. We went to a nice sit down better quality restaurant. 54th Street. Sat at the bar and had Chris wait on us. Ordered a beer for starters a Dr Pepper for my wife. A real taste of high quality DP. I hate going places that can't mix the right ratio of syrup with carbonated water. I've had original DP in Dublin before it closed. This is probably one of the best and highest rated DP drinks I could imagine. Just a little disappointed in the beer. I wanted a tall but the keg floated and wound up with a short. No other keg in the cooler until beer delivery on Thursday.

Ordered the slab of ribs. Mashed potatoes with gravy and the BBQ beans with brisket.

I was extremely pleased with my entire meal. And I am a pretty picky person when I eat. The taste, quality and temperature was a compliment to the whole experience of my visit.

I was so pleased I had to order dessert. Settled on the carrot cake. It was a good cake but I love my desserts more than my food. The cinnamon was a little too much in the cake but it was better than most. I would order it again.

Had to settle on another beer before leaving. Wasn't what I really wanted but it did help finish the meal.

Chris was not over bearing in his visits to check on us but promptly took care of any needs.

My over all satisfaction in the entire visit is surprisingly a 10 out of 10.

I am ready to return to this location of 54th Street because I have been to others and I can't rave about my total experience the same way.

Please keep up the great quality of food and of the people who work in...

A cut above the rest. 54th Street was a pleasant surprise in a state where bland food seems to rein supreme. It has long been one of my pet peeves about Texas that Texans consider Salt a spice. So many restaurant in Texas cook with only salt or over salt their food trying to make it taste good. Just FYI, salt is not a spice. It is a mineral flavor enhancer. It's purpose is to enhance the flavor of the other spices in the food, not be the only spice or overwhelm them. 54th Street is one of the very few restaurants in Texas that I have been to that understands what I just said. The food at 54th comes out looking like a top chef prepared your plate. But it doe snot stop at look. The food actually TASTE like it was prepared by a chef. There is real spice and seasoning in the food that you can taste, not just salt. The salt is there, but it is a contribution to the the spice of the food, not the main ingredient. 5 Stars for 54th Street for daring to break the Texas mold and cook tasty food. The thing about 54th street, is you would expect to pay a LOT more for what they serve. However, the prices are very reasonable, and even could be called budget friendly. IA super nice restaurant, serving great food, in a wonderful ambience. Who would have guessed that a place like this could exist post Covid? The Bottom Line: 54th Street is a place you need to try. If they keep doing what they do, I will keep coming back for more.

We ordered ribeyes, they offer them blackened with Cajun seasoning but we were interested in the the basic steak so we asked for them to be simply grilled (as alao listed on the menu) . The portion of the steak was a good size and it was cooked to our level of doneness but we did end up adding salt and pepper, I guess that's on us but we didn't realize that ordering without the Cajun seasoning would mean little to no seasoning at all. Between us we ordered sides of: scallops, grilled asparagus times two, adult mac and cheese and mashed potatoes with white gravy. He couldn't say enough good about the mac and cheese. He really enjoyed it. Thankfully we both like asparagus raw because it was barely (and I do mean barely) cooked. The mashed potatoes themselves were good. The gravy was a bit sweet for my tastes. Might be perfect for others. The scallops as a side came as three for $7. They were nicely seared and tasted good but for us that seemed a little steep. (just a reflection of our current economy, I suppose.) We sat outside and enjoyed the fire pit and even though we were outside, we received excellent service from Jen. She didn't forget about us. Overall it was a good experience. We just need to order a bit differently next time.
