Food is not the best but was ok. The restaurant was clean, they don't have servers and i think is because they don't have as much traffic plus like I just mentioned food is just ok and doesn't make you want to come again. Also another thing that caught us by surprise is that when we asked for the tab they didn't bring it to us, the lady that was there helping said for us to go to the register to pay and this is because this restaurant charges a gratuity fee in a party of 3 or more people and that is not disclose anywhere in the restaurant nor the guy that took the order told us , the total was around $82 but out of that amount $12 was the gratuity fee. I've always known that gratuity fee is added in parties of 6 or more, not 3 or more. Also they charge a $3 fee if you wanna pay with debit or credit card. Seriously!!! What type of restaurant is this?! Not even all the well known restaurants charge a fee when paying with card and this local own operated restaurant is charging additional in card fees and gratuity fee. First and last time we go to this place, not worth spending money. The restaurant needs maintenance the roof has alot of signs of water damage, plus the outside is not well kept and they have a thing on the way of the entrance that represents a big liability because if someone falls and gets injured. Overall this place is not to be call a restaurant and is not recommended at all.

I had a mixed experience. The oysters were just okay—not the standout I was hoping for, but they were fresh and well-presented. On the other hand, the soup was spot on! It was flavorful and comforting, definitely a highlight of the meal. The establishment itself was somewhat clean, though there’s a bit of room for improvement in that area. What really stood out during my visit was the service. Despite being understaffed during my visit, the team did an admirable job of assisting customers as much as they could. Their dedication to providing good service was evident, and I appreciated their efforts to keep everything running smoothly. The staff was attentive and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. Overall, I would recommend Mariscos La Fonda for the soup and great service, but I hope to see improvements in the oysters and cleanliness on my next visit.

This is one of the best seafood places I've encountered. They have an amazing menu with dishes from different parts of Mexico, with some very YUMMY offerings!

For starters, we got the Oysters Mazatlecos, a dozen oysters with all the trimmings, sauces, served in ice with a 2-level display. Just an amazing start.

We also ordered the "Chicharrón de Pescado" some delicious fish balls, served with guacamole, lettuce and tortillas.

I had the Seafood Soup, which was incredible, my family loved their food as well, the shrimp cocktail jumbo had more oysters and very good!

To finish all off, I had the churros and the orange flan at home to-go, that means I'm still eating 4hrs after leaving.

The chef came to greet us, a very nice guy from Cancun, formally trained as a chef.

Very impressed. We'll always...
