I had a horrible experience at this location. This was the first time I had ever been to a Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and was excited as I wanted to try one of their chocolate covered strawberries. I ordered two strawberries and three dog bones. The girl did not show me the strawberries prior to handing them over in a box inside of a bag and I didn't check to see if I was going to be satisfied with them. I went off of the fact that I was receiving what I had purchased. She rang me up and the total was higher than I was expecting....each strawberry was $3-- a rip off- and each bone was .50. My total was over $11 dollars. I asked the girl if I maybe received three strawberries and she said yes. When I got home I noticed that there were only two strawberries in the box. The strawberries that were in the box were large, however the tops of the strawberries were white--not ripe. I called and let them know that they over charged me. They proceeded to refund my money and thanked me for the opportunity to fix the problem. I then ate one of the strawberries....and because it was not ripe it didn't taste like it was worth $3-- at all. It was horrible. I saved the second one for Sunday. So midday Sunday I go to eat the strawberry and the top is mushy. The strawberry was turning bad already so much so that the chocolate was mushy as well. I am mortified. This was a horrible experience and very costly for the products that I received. I will...
Read moreI do love chocolate! Rocky Mountain Chocolate is a gourmet chocolate store and it is certainly reflected in their prices. The chocolate is really good and they also serve ice cream. The only complaint I have about this place and the reason for the 4 stars is because of the lazy Ness of the workers there. My wife and I like to treat ourselves to an ice cream cone every once in a while. They serve Blue Bell ice cream so the taste and quality of the ice cream is good but they never have waffle cones. If they do have waffle cones then they never have the chocolate dipped with nuts waffle cones. If you ask for a waffle cone they tell you there out! They make them in store, the reason there out is because nobody is making them.....lazyness. the "other" chocolate store in the shopping center doesn't have Blue Bell ice cream and their freezers are always a little warm making the ice cream very soft/melted. I mean at the prices they are selling their product at they can't keep a few ice cream cones around? Would I recommend this place to others? Yeah, it's better than the other place in the shopping center, but it's not the best...
Read moreThe various apple concoctions look much better than they are and definitely not worth the $money. We were returning on a regular basis because of the ice cream especially the chocolate mocha. It had a high butterfat content of 16% or more - a premium ice-cream for a premium $price but worth it to us. But alas!... their frifge equipment for the ice-cream broke down and they had NO ice-cream for 2 weeks +. Then, to top it off?!, they discontinued the chocolate mocha. And I guarantee you that it was a favorite of many and probably their best seller. So what gives?.. something is amiss here... could it be that the chocolate mocha being 16% + didn't have the $margins that they wanted so they changed up to make more $money? Net Net : Their items sre not a good $value... a) I think they're counting on most of their customers being 1st (& last) timers as they won't be back any time soon anyway. b) If you have a sweet tooth for chocolate and/or ice cream go a block north into the next area of Tanger and go to the Fudgery. It's primo high quality stuff and the people & mgmt are the...
