Let's be honest. We all know this Whataburger has a reputation of being bad.
If you can go to the other one in town and dine in do it.
Reasons why this place is bad.
The bathrooms are disgusting. Fecal matter on the toilet seats, reeks of urine in the male bathrooms. Big gap in the stall to see people doing their business.
Food is ALWAYS cold. There are a couple of reasons for this.
First, they use hot holds (warmers) to keep the already cooked food ready to be used. The problem is that they dont have the hot holds high enough in temperature or refill the humidity tray to keep the meat from drying out.
Second, their managers can't control one particular employee (you know who) from talking to every single customer and interrupting their meals. Instead of running the food out it just sits waiting for this person and gets cold. I literally watched 8 bags pile up waiting to be delivered because this person would not stop talking to me. I'm not saying this person isn't nice but please managers reign them in.
Same person constantly interrupts your meal after you get it. Not because they are asking if the meal is okay but they just want to talk. I'm sorry I'm here to eat a meal in peace not answer 20 questions about my life and work to a stranger.
Soda tower is always full of ice and never cleaned out. There is literal mold and algae growing in the drain tray because this place can't keep it clean.
The floors are always dirty. There are napkins, spilled food, or ice on the floor or underneath the chairs/tables. I don't know how at night these things can't be done when the lobby is closed and it's only drive thru in the overnight hours.
If simple things like cleaning the soda tower, floors, or bathrooms, which the customers see every day, is beyond doing. What does the kitchen a food storage look like!
The atmosphere though is nice. The art on the walls being back good memories and happier times.
If management reads this, which I doubt, try to have your employees have some pride in their work and manage their time better. Your store is the 2nd busiest store in Texas, the other store in San Marcos is the most busiest. If they can manage to address these then by all means you should be...

I am yet to receive a call from the manager of the store, Jennifer Dominguez. Instead, complaint is being handled by a corporate office claims rep, Ms Irby, that is handling just as terrible as Sandra. Very disappointed at Whataburger! Love their food and when I volunteered in the rebuilding efforts in Rockport, Tx after hurricane damage, saw how this company gave out food to volunteers. Now, though, it DEFENSE and RUDENESS 100%. OWN up, SAY sorry, OFFER first aid, and put your customers first. 3/14/2021: Went thru drive thru. Window employee handed coffee to my daughter and lid was not put on correctly. Coffee spilled on my daughter's belly and legs. Employee went for the manager on duty, Sandra. Terrible handling of situation! Told us to pull car forward and was more concerned about moving traffic than tending to incident. I asked but she said either ER or ambulance could tend to it because they carried no first aid. We called 911 for something she could have resolved there. We had to call corporate because she refused to provide GM info. Read moreWhat a waste of time here the employee who’s at the drive thru window is beyond rude didn’t get the order correct had wait longer to get it corrected just for it to come out wrong again we finally just said forget it she hands the bag off to my husband without napkins ketchup the ranch that we order for our salad not to mention we asked her if the condiments and utensil was in there and of course they weren’t. We had to honk and wait for her to come back to the window to handle the stuff. this is the second time this happens just way worse when you have to deal with a worker who has the worst attitude ever I didn’t write a review the first time it happened nor did I pick up my complementary meal from the last time that their manager Sydney was going to replace because they got it wrong I figured they would have gone their act together and made things right the second time around But nope, this was the worst experience ever not going to call to get my order re-corrected. Hopefully this review will help others to not waste their time nor money at this location beyond disappointing Shame on whataburger for allowing this type of people to serve paying customers.
