Treff's Tavern — Restaurant in San Marcos

Treff’s hosted my bachelorette party on a bingo night and let me just say, WOW!!! My husband and I absolutely loved going to Treff’s when we lived closer to them and we remembered loving bingo night, so I got all of my bridesmaids and important women in my life together for a fun night. Matthew messaged backed almost immediately and got to planning. He let people go in earlier to set up decorations, he worked out a menu with me with special drinks, and during the night he left himself available to take our order and really made sure the night was special. Both Matthew and the rest of the staff that night truly went above and beyond when it came to making sure we were safe and that the night was special. I truly mean it when I say Treff’s is the BEST bar in all of San Marcos. Everybody there is personable and truly cares about making sure everybody has a fun time.

I would attach more photos if they weren’t all taken with some type of gag gift (not sure if that breaks google reviews terms of service lol) but I will attach the menu I had ChatGPT create. The theme was tequila sunrise and Matthew worked out the menu with us and suggested good drinks to keep the orange, yellow, and pink theme. I asked him if there was any way to make the designated shot wedding cake flavored and he did not disappoint!!! It truly has become my favorite shot so it looks like I’ll have to keep going back to Treff’s for it.

My friend Eloy brought boned turkey and all the fixings this Thanksgiving to Treff's Tavern, who had a pot luck holiday free buffet for all customers. Treff's Amy helped load the great free buffet tables with the Eloy's potluck offerings with a smile and everything everyone brought was DELICIOUS -- a great Thanksgiving dinner for some of us holiday "orphans." It was MY first time at this fun bar, the prices were right ($1.75 beer pints is what I had) and everyone, including all the staff, was in a great mood. Eloy introduced me to most of them, as he is a regular ("MY bar").

I would recommend this place to those who want to have a fun time in a San Marcos saloon entertainment and conversation. It's a friendly sports bar, and they must have had 20 screens on two stories. Some of the screens needed some contrast tweaking but one could watch better pictures on another nearby screen.

I would also suggest this bar for less-that-hoighty/touity, friendly bar enthusiasts who need a night away. I will be back again on a regular day to compare the great Thanksgiving spent there! Well liquors were $2 tonight, and we were served well vodka and charged $6 a shot! The bartender who is also manager and share-holder DID NOT MENTION TO US that well vodka in the form of a pickle shot would be $6. As a longtime bartender being served by a long term bartender, when I’m told “wells are $2” I trusted that Chad would be honest with us. Instead, he took us to the cleaners. If I could give no stars I would. I have been in San Marcos for over 10 years. About 6 years ago I was man-handled by a door guy for no reason. I did not return to Treff’s for almost 4 years. Since then, I have gone back a handful of times in hopes that it was just “one bad apple”, but now I see that the employees at Treff’s are out for nothing more than money.
