Sourdough & Co. — Restaurant in San Rafael

They just opened in my neighborhood so I had to try it. Very corporate. Over packaged and overpriced. The sourdough isn’t sour; a surprising omission for a company that uses that word in its name. I paid almost $20 for a 4 inch cheese sandwich which I had to order custom off the menu because they don’t have much in the way of vegetarian fare on the menu, and a fountain drink: hardly a bargain.

Perhaps it was just a bad batch, but the tuna fish sub had very little taste and left a lot to be desired. If that is the way it is always made, they should take it off the menu. It was a very expensive and disappointing lunch. For two people: 2 sandwiches, 2 drinks, and 1 small soup (no chips), with tax and tip (15%), it was almost $50.00! Had the turkey sando with cheese and cup of chowder. Sandwich: Not disappointed but not wowed either. About what a sandwich on sourdough should taste like, so I'd probably get another some day.
