I recently had the pleasure of dining at Kabila restaurant in San Ramon with a group of 11 people. a contemporary Indian restaurant that left me thoroughly impressed. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was greeted with a big smile and a vibrant ambiance that set the stage for a pleasant dining experience.
The first thing that struck me was the restaurant's impeccable service. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the cuisine they were serving. Mani took care of us so well with a warm heart. He took the time to explain the menu, offering recommendations based on personal preferences, and ensuring that every aspect of our dining experience was taken care of.
Moving on to the star of the show - the food :) The menu showcased a creative blend of traditional Indian flavors and contemporary twists that delighted my taste buds. Mango Lassi and Samosa Chaat were my top favorites. I ordered salt lassi first which was too sour for my taste but the staff exchanged it promptly once we brought the issue to their attention.
From the appetizers to the desserts, every bite was a revelation. We tried several dishes there including Chhole, Paneer and Yellow Daal with Naan. Each dish was a masterpiece, skillfully crafted with attention to detail and presented with elegance. In the dessert, we tried Kulfi that came with a perfect combination of taste and texture.
The restaurant's contemporary décor, with its tasteful blend of modern elements and traditional Indian motifs, added to the overall dining experience. The comfortable seating and ambient lighting created an inviting atmosphere that was perfect for both intimate dinners and larger gatherings.
Overall, my dining experience at Kabila was exceptional in every way. The combination of outstanding service, delectable cuisine, and inviting ambiance created an unforgettable experience for the entire family. Whether you are a fan of Indian cuisine or simply looking for a culinary adventure, I highly recommend visiting Kabila. Be prepared to be impressed and indulge in an extraordinary culinary journey that will leave you...
Read moreThis is exactly what this area needs! We finally made it in to this beautifully designed new Indian restaurant and we got exactly what we were craving! The great selection of Indian classics and some modern twists.
I thought I was in a vegas buffet, everything was so top notch/classy/hip and the energy was everywhere. There was music in the air and my gold rimmed plate couldnt fill up fast enough. Even at the end of the lunch buffet the place was packed with from what I could tell was the instant cult following, there was a party in the private room, and the lobby was full (but being seated rapidly). Smiles were abundant and there was a defining buzz and rumble.
They offer a good selection of classic/modern indian fare. Butter chicken, Mushroom tikka marsala, a few paneer dishes, and some really good pakoras (vegi/fish). I found the tandoori chicken juicy with a bit of a kick and went down really nicely paired with the biryani! The self service buffet is beautifully laid out and dishes are kept warm by a very sheik burner/marble custom counter space. Everything is really high end but not stuffy, perfect from business lunch to family outing. Nice strong chai tea, and a full assortment of classic desserts satisfy any sweet tooth. Service is extremely friendly and helpful, our lunch date ran a bit late and they didnt seem to mind us hanging out after they started to wrap up (3ish).
I wanted to give a special shout out to Nadia, a server in the main hall. She was friendly helpful and attentive. One of our favorite sweets was gobbled up before we had a chance to get any. Without hesitation she tracked us down a couple in their attached bakery and that's what took my 4 star review to a 5er. Thanks again Nadia!
I suggest this lovely addition to this community to any body that loves indian food or anybody that would like to try indian food for the first time. The options provided represent a great collection of an extremely diverse culinary culture. Great options for Vegans, vegetarians, and...

It's not fancy. You walk up to the counter, order, wait. There's usually one or two families eating inside, but not many. I've lived here a long time, and I almost never see white people there. Which is wild--because the food? It's incredible.
Everything they make is so good. I get the malai kofta because I have to--I'm basically addicted to it. But I always make myself order something else too, and whatever it is, it just hits the spot. I've literally woken up wanting to eat it for breakfast.
The dal is warm, comforting, and layered with flavor--like someone's grandma simmered it for hours... but then I'm just standing there like, 'Dal Tadka or Dal Makhani?'--because I can never decide, they're both so damn good. The samosas are packed with heat and flavor in all the right ways. It's the kind of food I crave when I'm hungry and want something real.
And the people? They don't small talk. There's a communication barrier, yeah. But there's this one young woman who works there--probably around 20--who laughs at my weird jokes, picks up on my energy, and always makes me feel welcome. I hope someone's telling her how special she is!!!
The guys mostly look at me like I'm a glitch in the simulation. Which, to be fair, I probably am.
Bottom line: Kabila is low-key, no-frills, and absolutely worth it. This is real Indian food made by people who know exactly what they're doing. Don't...
