After reading many reviews and looking for a new spot in town, we landed at Vita for a quick meal before the concert a Jackson Street Pier. It turned out to be the perfect spot for 3 friends to have some great wine, an amazing espresso martini ( prepared ice cold as requested) and a fabulous simple meal. My friends each had a separate flatbread consisting of simple ingredients that paired perfectly together. I opted for the pound of cold shrimp, knowing it could be a crap shoot...and ended up with an unexpected surprise! The shrimp were absolutely beautiful. Firm, fresh, clean, cold with extra lemon ( like I requested 😁). We received great service! I believe the manager, who was also running food, frequently came by to check on us and answered all of our questions about the building Vita's history. To be honest, when we first walked in, it wasn't busy. This made us sceptical. So glad we stayed!! As locals, it was the perfect place to be able to yuck it up and not be elbow to elbow with other people . It turned out to be stiff competition to one my favorite places down the street ( that has unfortunately gone down hill lately). Even the woman's bathrooms were clean and inviting. So ,if you're looking for a new spot offering everything above, try something new and give Vita a shot! It's more than just a breakfast place! It's a great addition to the newly finished downtown. Last thing, the location was nice because I was able to walk to meticulously landscaped green spaces near the iconic Little Red Wagon and the Boy and the Boot . Great job...
Read moreSo much promise when we walked in yet ended in disaster. When we entered this place we thought it was a really cool looking place. Maybe a former bank building or something. That’s where the promise ended…
TLDR was we ordered about $400 in food which were mains, salads, and a few appetizers. Fast forward an hour and a half later and still no food. The server never even came back to check on us to ask if we wanted more water, drinks etc. Finally received our apps at the 1:45 hour mark which ended up being frozen pretzels. Then at the 2 hour mark we received our salads, but only some of us while others didnt arrive. This followed by some dinner rolls that literally were frozen in the middle.
At about 2:15 hours we finally told them we were done and leaving. Never saw the mains and at this point we were done. The wait staff was inattentive and frankly rude.
If you come to Sandusky do yourself a favor and don’t go here. What a joke. Shame on you Vita. We ended up going to the grocery store for $1.29 frozen burritos since we wasted so much time at Vita that we were starving at that point and missed the window to go to other nearby...
Read moreWe love this place! It has such a casual and welcoming atmosphere. When you walk in you're greeted by a grand and rather ornate interior. The ceiling is gorgeous and it's spacious inside. There's chill music playing and the staff is welcoming and very friendly.
We usually go here to get some coffee with our dogs! They do allow dogs inside the building. So if you're looking for a place to eat and hang out with your pup then this is the spot. I can't really comment on their food as I have yet to order anything other than their coffee, muffin and a soup. But people seem satisfied with their meals when they're here.
The service is great. And the owner is also a professional barista and well versed in mixology. She makes a great cocktail and she always has new and exciting ideas with coffee flavors! I'm always looking forward to seeing what she has in mind when we're there.
Overall, this place is great. Stop by and unwind with a cup of coffee or a filling meal. And bring...
