We had the absolute pleasure of working with Ankur and the Bawarchi team for our wedding catering, and we couldn’t have asked for a better partner in making our events memorable. From our very first interaction, their warmth, professionalism, and genuine care stood out far above anyone else we met in the Atlanta area. What impressed us most was their attention to detail and commitment to quality. During our tastings, Ankur and his team went above and beyond to make sure every dish was tailored to our exact standards. They welcomed our families with such hospitality, worked around dietary restrictions and allergies, and even helped us create innovative dishes unique to our celebration. Their flexibility and willingness to listen made the process stress-free and enjoyable.
On the actual wedding days (our Welcome Party and Reception), the execution was flawless. As someone who paid very close attention to catering details, I can confidently say I didn’t have to worry about a single thing—the team had everything under control. The food was outstanding, and to this day (a year later!) our guests are still raving about how delicious everything was. That’s the kind of impression their cooking leaves.
We met with many caterers in Atlanta, and while others talked about creativity and new ideas, few could deliver both the innovation and the execution. Ankur and the Bawarchi team truly bring the best of both worlds. From flavorful vegetarian dishes to perfect chicken curries, every plate reflected the conversations we had during our tastings. Most importantly, they made our guests feel safe and cared for with clear communication around allergies and special dietary needs.
Choosing Bawarchi was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. They didn’t just provide food—they provided peace of mind, joy, and an experience that our guests and we will never forget. We wholeheartedly recommend Ankur and his team to anyone looking for catering that combines authentic flavors, flawless service, and a genuine passion for making people happy. We can't wait to go back to their restaurant and relive...
Read moreI went to this place since this was another evening when I was in mood for some South Indian vegetarian food. I found that this place was about 15 mins from my hotel and had some decent reviews. So I decided to give it a shot. Overall, I was a bit disappointed.
The ambience in the restaurant was great and the staff were very nice. For no apparent reason, I decided to have a soup along with the idlis and Chai I had originally planned to have. I ordered Idly sambar where the idlis were supposed to be immersed in sambar. The staff asked me if and which chutney I would like to try. He said there were three and I asked to taste all three. In addition I ordered an Irani chai and cup of veg Manchow soup. The service was relatively quick and everything arrived within 5 mins. The staff brought the idlis with the sambar on the side which they quickly corrected when I pointed out.
The Irani chai was good but had a bit excessive sugar in it (4 out 5).
The manchow soup was actually pretty good. I would give it a 4.5 out of 5.
The idlis, which was the reason for my dining there were totally disappointing. The idlis were hard and difficult to eat. They were large in size but also so dense that there was no way they were going to soak in sambar. The sambar was super viscous and was loaded with small pieces of drumsticks which at a point became an annoyance. It tasted decent. They served two chutneys (not three as originally offered), but I wasn’t going to ask for the third until I tried the first 2. Both the chutneys were served cold which implies that they were not freshly made and they lacked salt. One of them even tasted weirdly sour potentially indicating an old batch. I lost my appetite after tasking the chutney and didn’t bother to finish the dish. Overall it was very disappointing and I would give 1 out of 5 for the idly sambar.
Wouldn’t recommend this place for South...
Read moreI've had 7 meals here. I try something different each time. I've even gotten the Chili Fish twice. Yesterday for lunch, I tried the Pepper Chicken Fry. I expected the chicken to be fried, but it wasn't. I was pleasantly surprised with the sizes and quality of the chicken pieces. I also went back for dinner and purchased a whole Tandori chicken. I was so pleased with my choices, just as I'd been in the past. I work nearby, so on the way home from work today, I stopped in and ordered 2 more dishes for tonight's dinner. I chose Butter chicken because it's simple and the kids like it. While viewing the menu with the guy taking my order, I pointed to a picture of a dish with nice big prawns, and he informed me that it was the Pulusu Curry Shrimp. I ordered that as well. When I opened my shrimp dish at home, they were baby shrimp. I called them, and he then informed me that the Curry dishes have baby shrimp. $17 for baby shrimp? I let him know that that was very misleading. Also, I know frozen entree Butter Chicken when I taste it. I get it at Publix all the time, which is why I was excited to bring an authentic one home. The children agreed that was almost, perfectly cubed and dried out, frozen entree Butter Chicken. That chicken was NOTHING like the nice pieces of chicken from the night before. I'm very disappointed and probably won't be back. I feel played with. And I don't play about my hard earned money nor my food 😑 They are nice but clearly deceptive. Andcthe food is...
