The reviews made this seem like it would the best sushi and service ever. Regretting our choice over the hibachi steakhouse. Maybe an off day?
Our server mumbled and the other barely spoke which made it difficult to know what was happening. We realized after water came he was asking for our drink order. Our table was set with one napkin and a pair of chopsticks. We ordered appetizers and drinks for 3 people. One meal came out before the appetizers, 10 minutes later one more meal and the appetizers came out. After waiting for the server to come back we had to ask for silverware and napkins. We received 2 more chopsticks. We stole a napkin from another table so we had 2 to share between the 3 of us. One meal was promised to be spicy which was not, but the server did say they would bring sauces. After waiting awhile we had to get up to ask for the hot tea we never received and the sauces.
Realizing sushi might take awhile, we were not wanting to complain but as we neared the end of the meal the server was wondering if the one of us who did not have a meal wanted more tempura veggies and said they would be on the house. The veggies were not good 6 barely cooked pieces for $13 is ridiculous. We did not want more. She let them know she was still waiting on her sushi. We think he realized he forgot it.
The food was decent but we just wanted it to come out in order. The table was really crowded with dishes and it was hard to eat things quickly so it would all be hot. Our server was outside talking to someone and we waited 20 minutes for the other to come to check out. I hope this is not the norm but wanted to give you guys the heads up. We will...
Read moreOne Sushi place to avoid… To be clear, the staff are polite and friendly; the decor and overall atmosphere is pleasant enough (minus the fruit flies), but the sushi/nigiri was vile. I should mention, I love sushi and nigiri in their vast array of combinations. Being moderately adventurous, I decided to splurge and try the Nigiri Platter (in which you receive 12 pieces of the chef’s choices for $35), a reasonable time later, the platter arrived looking pretty as a picture along with a small flourish of plastic flowers. I grabbed my chopsticks, scarfed down the shrimp nigiri, and it was basic/inoffensive/underwhelming. With the shrimp gone, I moved onto the main course: white tuna, tuna, salmon, eel, and yellowtail. I dabbed a small amount of soy sauce on the white tuna and chomped down… it was acrid, abhorrently so. It smelled fine, the texture was okay, it wasn’t slimy or anything, but it tasted more like dish soap than fish. Thinking maybe it’s just that particular fish, I moved onto one that’s more reliable, the regular ol’ tuna… it was even worse. Again, looked fine, smelled fine, felt fine, but left me a sinew shy of retching. They gave me multiples of most of the nigiri except for the unagi, so I had my husband taste them all too… his reaction wasn’t as strong, but even he noticed something tasted off about the lot. I hope I don’t get food poisoning. On a happier note, the beer was nice and cold and was great for washing...
Read moreWe've been here about 5 times, and the owners changed, so now it's Korean dishes and sushi. Menu changed as well. I'm assuming the chef did, too.
We ordered appetizers and sushi rolls, which were good. The appetizers came out at the same time as the soup and salad that they give you. Our rolls took about 20 to 30 minutes to come out, and they came out 2 different times. My husband was done with his roll by the time mine came out. The food was good, the only thing that caught me off guard and I didn't know how to eat was my las vegas roll. It was 3x the size of a regular roll. The pieces were huge! I'm not complaining, but they could have at least provided a knife so I can cut it. It was very awkward eating a piece that big without looking messy and the whole roll coming apart. When we were done, they picked up our plates and kept refilling our water for at least 15 minutes until we asked for the check since not 1 out of the 5 people working there offered it to us. We didn't entirely love the experience like our past times, I think we'll come back some time, but it's not a place that we're eager to...
