✭ ✭ ✭ ✭ ✭ Stars for product. ✭ ✭ ✭ Stars for a couple things as of late. I am a very experienced coffee drinker. B&Bs coffee beats any and all coffee. Except maybe actual Italian or French cafes. Their French Roast is super strong and flavorful with very little acidity ...which makes it just about perfect. I’ve been drinking it over 10 years. My drink is the Eye Opener. French Roast with shots of espresso. ...couple things tho. 1) No matter what size eye opener you order, there are 2 shots. Small one, 2 shots. Largest size, 2 shots. This makes zeeeero sense. Large ones should come with 4 shots. Every time (or at least 3). Even if price is a bit higher. This has been an issue forever. 2) Is a newer problem. Sometimes I work late or all night occasionally so I find myself going to any location within the final hour of closing (and this happens a LOT. In fact, sometimes after 11 am or 1 pm, they’re completely done with French for the day) where the ppl working say “Oooooo, sorry, we just dumped out our French Roast.” (B&Bs employees overall are usually super nice and stellar service but not when they want to get cleaned up so they can go home) I don’t know if this is a corporate thing or employee wanting to go home thing. For a person who comes here daily, it’s really disappointing I pay $5+ and can’t get the drink I want. 3) B&Bs REALLLLLY needs the ability to do a pour-over in situations like that. It’s just a little coffee filter with grounds over a cup you pour hot water through. Takes like 2-3 min but could solve that problem so easy. Plus, pour-overs are arguably superior flavor to brewing large batches. If BBs is really passionate about coffee, they should have had pour over ability many years ago. ...Starbucks does it and usually I don’t like to have to go to Sbx but their Italian and Verona roasts are actually really good. So I go there sometimes rather than gambling that BBs dumped out all their French Roast 1 to 6 hours too soon. BBs better never get rid of their French or I can’t go...
Read moreI got a vanilla cappuccino . . . It was the worst coffee--in terms of from a coffee shop--I have ever had. I am actually laughing with my wife right now at how bad both the espresso and flavoring is for both of our drinks. It's soooo bad, and it was $6.50 for mine and $7 for my wife's drink. They charged me a dollar for vanilla syrup that wasn't put into it ( I'm 99% sure, as there isn't a faint taste of any vanilla). But hey, I like plain cappuccinos on their own, but the espresso in it is shockingly bad. Their espresso beans taste extremely old, burnt, and lacking any flavor. And I know, I know, I'm not getting something from Blue Copper or Publik, but I didn't pay $6.50 for something actually worse than Dunkin's espresso drinks.
I gave 2 stars because the employee seemed nice enough.
As a Utah resident for most of my life this is the second time I've been to Beans and Brews, and both times have been truly awful. I remember 10 years ago I got regular brewed coffee from the Draper location near Harmon's. It literally tasted like hot water with no note of any coffee. We got a gift card to it for Christmas, so I was excited to give it a second shot and with an espresso drink, rather than brewed coffee. I guess this review should be more a rating on Beans and Brews in general, and not this location specifically, but this location definitely forgot to add the vanilla syrup I was charged extra for, so I had to leave it.
If you like Beans and Brews coffee, I'm happy for you, but we definitely do not have the same taste...
Read moreThis location use to be the best in the company now it's the worst. The coffee is always burned & bitter! The staff is a bunch of snot nosed teenagers who don't care one bit about the customer! The manager is always conveniently unavailable to complain to and never returns calls!
I went in today and order three drinks and repeated the order twice to make sure they had it. At the very end the employee made the wrong drinks still and then tried to recharge my card for his error over $0.40 for one of the wrong drinks saying it's his managers orders to always recharge! Tying up double the money on my account making me wait longer and all because he didn't listen!
They screw up and make the customer wait longer, inconvenience the customer by double authorizing our cards because authorizations don't void instantly, & they care more about the money that they will recharge a customer for $0.40 when each transaction costs $5 to run so this would've cost them $10 on a $14 order over $0.40! No matter how you look at this, it's dumb business because you lost money on the transaction & pissed off a customer who's been coming there for 10 years!
This location needs to take a serious look at who's running this location & the staff there because it's been going down hill for months now!
I do not recommend this location or any other beans & brews now under their new leadership and business model! Horrible company that use to be a local company first that now reminds me of comcast...
