The location is great, easily accessible with 15min parking if you need it. The pastries are above average, lemon muffins and scones are super. But if you came here for good coffee, forget about it. The drip k&f coffee has always been low quality, even before they upgraded. I have been coming here consistently for about 5 years and the coffee went down hill. The espresso drinks used to be great (with the old staff) they actually knew how to use an expresso machine, quantities and temperatures of the ingredients. Since the newer staff, it’s gone way down hill. Even the basic understanding of what constitutes a latte or cappuccino are not there. No knowledge of how long to pull shots and zero knowledge of temperatures for milk. I have pretty much switched to Ant Farm Cafe around the corner now because the Barista is actually a Barista and not a hack. I’m sure when Mountain Moka decide to train their staff it will be good again. But for now, if you have taste and expect a higher quality expresso then forget about this place. You will be left drinking boiling hot drinks with over bitter expresso pulls. Sad really, shame to see a place fall off the...
Read moreNot too impressive in the coffee department. The shots are poorly pulled (very bitter), they foam the milk in about 20 seconds; I've gotten my drink before I've even had the chance to pay for it!
I once overheard the baristas talking about how their friend who works at Starbucks has to throw out shots that have been sitting out for 60 seconds. They were incredulous that this was a policy, and had no idea that shots go completely bitter when they sit out for too long.
I haven't tried the drip coffee, but I do not recognize the roasters.
On the GOOD side: the baristas are friendly, they don't mind when I bring children and craft projects in there (I mentor some kids and take them there). They only charge 50c for tea! They have for-here mugs (but not for cold drinks, unfortunately). Their pastries look pretty decent, but I...
Read moreI’ve been here quite a few times now. Compared to the average drive-thru coffee places nearby it is the best choice for coffee. Having said that, they are inconsistent in the quality of the coffee. Part of this is many of the employees are very young and often get your order wrong because they aren’t paying attention/are talking more than working. The other part is they are poorly trained. Two drinks with four shots should not take less than two minutes to make. The drinks I’ve had here lately are bitter and unappealing....
