We only ended up here because the Italian restaurant we were going to published the wrong business hours. After reading the reviews we doubted it would be good. We were sad immediately and they just opened at 3:00 p.m., it was a decent bit of time before a server finally came and got us drinks and then we finally got a normal server, I guess. And we ordered the stuffed mushroom appetizer, it was actually pretty decent. You don't taste the alcohol or smell the alcohol at all in the sauce. On all of our entrees all of the sauces tasted pretty jarred, nothing spectacular nothing over the top it was all subpar. The pasta was cheap, not bronze died or anything High quality. The pasta was very smooth with no texture and soggy. The shrimps and scallops plate was almost sent back because we thought they forgot the scallops. Unbeknownst to us when we ordered the scallops are the size of tiny pearls. I've never in my life had such tiny scallops I don't even think they all added up to one normal scallop. The shrimps were served tail on mixed in the pasta who wants to fish out tail on shrimp out of their pasta to get the tails off? The dinner bread they serve is good, but it's deliberately very potent and wet to make you feel like you've eaten a lot at the end of your stay. We felt so robbed for the amount of money this cost I mean they were so cheap that when our $30 plates were delivered to our table they were set down and we were asked if there's anything else they could get. There was no fresh parmesan waiting to be graded there was no fresh Cracked Pepper to serve but there was a Cracked Pepper dispenser on the table. I asked, don't they serve it with parmesan? I was told sure and they came back with a tiny plate with parmigiano on it that both looked and tasted just like the parmesan you get in the grocery aisle that's powdered. It was disgusting and flavorless and matched the actual food they served. I don't know where these reviewers are finding good food in this restaurant. The pictures are pretty and yes our plates look nice but the flavor was not there. My husband wanted red pepper they literally brought him about a quarter cup of red pepper flakes dumped in a little bowl. Two people, 90 something dollars for Two Plates of horrible food very subpar and one mushroom appetizer. They present the bill on a handheld digital screen they tell you what menu items they charged and then they zip past so you can't actually see what you were charged and then says to me twice do I see the grand total? How about I actually seen my bill and verify it's correct? Then they of course try to force super high tips, which we really didn't think were deserving. They just opened at 3:00 p.m. but the trash was overflowing and the women's bathroom and there were pieces of toilet paper all over the floor. Instead of putting paper towels in the holder they have them on the sink counter where everybody's hands drip on the whole pile. When we first got there while waiting on our waitress all of the house staff was in the kitchen and it was so loud in the kitchen you could hear everything they were saying and couldn't even hear the music over them. Either way, save your money. This place...

What an amazing and delightful dining experience recently added to the Midvale community in the past six months! This restaurant is very clean and uses an ingenious system of paddles to circulate air through the dining area. It has a beautiful exterior as well as a patio seating area for the months that invite that type of dining. The interior is well-lit and clean.
The staff is very welcoming the moment you walk into the establishment, and the seats are comfortable at the tables. There is booth seating available, but I did not try any of those out on the night I visited.
The bread is very good and baked fresh in the kitchen every day, but the butter and herbs make it really delicious, and the extra virgin olive oil with herbs and seasoning expertly compliment the flavors of the warm, seasoned rolls. The iced tea is freshly brewed, and it is a good brew. It's a good-quality iced tea for those who enjoy that beverage.
The serving staff is very accommodating of questions and very knowledgeable about all the menu items. My goal was to increase the protein in my dinner, so I added grilled chicken to my dinner salad for an additional cost of $6, and the kitchen added quite a significant bit of grilled chicken! The Italian dressing was delicious, and the dinner salad would be have been great for a smaller meal in and of itself with the added protein.
The Scarparelli was an absolutely delightful entrée! The combination of the Italian sausage and the grilled chicken in that super-delicious and rich brandy cream sauce was fantastic in the restaurant, and it also reheated very nicely at home the next day for a second meal.
For a first visit, I could not decide on just one dessert, so I tried both the cannoli and the Italian sweet cream cake. Both desserts were fantastic, though I have to lean a bit heavier toward my preference for the lemon berry mascarpone cake! The filling on the cannoli was quite true to the homeland, though, and very expertly done. I was told that I must try the tiramisu on my next visit.
I had plenty of leftovers to take home and enjoy the next day. The food quantity served is quite generous. This will not be the cheapest place to eat, but your money is well-spent on quality ingredients and kitchen staff that knows and well-understands their craft! I am excited and already looking forward to my return visit in the near future.
Being very new, Napoli's does not yet have a liquor license and is currently unable to serve wine or beer, but that's more of a Utah problem than a Napoli's problem. There is no idea of when Utah might be able to provide this establishment with a liquor license. Also, it is an intention of the owners to not make gnocchi at this restaurant, so that is not an option on the menu.
I highly recommend this restaurant to aficionados of...
Read moreI don't know if it was because it was Friday the 13th, but our service this last time was horrific. I called at 3:15, they open at 3. And asked for a reservation at 6. He said they were booked until 7, and I said that's fine. I should have known it wouldn't have been kept, as whoever took it had serious attitude. I believe it was the "manager" who ended up helping us at end of the night. When we arrived at 7 PM. They had no record of a reservation, again attitude from the staff, didn't believe that I truly made a reservation. They stuffed us outside on the patio, and it was pretty cold. The girl asks us if we want normal table settings and a tablecloth. So, because you didn't keep our reservation, we now don't get the normal table settings? Then our waiter came, and asked us for drinks and appetizers, and seemed scared of us (every single time he came to the table). We hadn't been rude to the staff at all, even though there had already been multiple mistakes. Appetizer shows up, and they are wrong. Then we order dinner, guess what, yep....wrong again. He brought us bread and I asked if we could get some oil and vinegar. Well that didn't show up until we were done eating. The drinks we had, were empty since we sat at the restaurant for close to 2 hours. No one ever filled them. A cleaner of the tables saw us and asked if we needed help. And we said yes, we've been sitting here with no help for quite a while. Finally the manager I believe, came out and said I'm sorry your server got busy with other tables. I seriously feel like we were the ugly duckling table outside, because they didn't make our reservation. To get busy with other tables and just let us sit there. We asked for boxes and the check. He said he would treat us to dessert and asked us what we wanted. We told him what we wanted and asked for it to go. Guess WHAT?!! WRONG AGAIN. I didn't even say anything, I was so over this experience at this point and wanted to get far away from this place. So then he brings the check....AND ITS THE WRONG CHECK!!!!!!!!! LOL. What a joke this whole experience was. Our first time was just the week prior, and the service and food was outstanding. We go out every Friday, and we planned to come here for several Fridays in a row with all the things we wanted to try. But this time has completely turned us off. Even though they deserved absolutely no tip, I'm not going to stoop to their level, I left a tip. This was a complete waste of time, wrong food all throughout the ENTIRE meal, and absolutely horrific service, that's putting it lightly. I'll go to another Italian restaurant and pay twice the amount if it means I'm treated like a valued customer. Don't waste your time...
