This was not the first time I had visited this Outback steakhouse location, but it was the first time I have ever eaten there. On our first visit, the restaurant was too busy to get a table. This is fine, and probably understandable for a popular restaurant. What was annoying was that the host told the person in front of me that the wait for a party of 3 was 35 minutes and then told me that the wait for a party of 3 was over an hour. This was after the host tried to help the person in line behind me, completely ignoring me. As an additional frustration, there were several clean and empty tables present in the restaurant. We left and returned three days later to try again. Take 2: the restaurant was not at all busy and we were seated quickly. The host was helpful and accommodating, which was nice because we had a toddler with us. Or server, Nick, was also very charismatic, funny and helpful. Off to a much better start than the previous visit. We ordered a bloomin' onion, 2 6oz steaks (one rare, one medium rare), with house salads and baked potatoes, and the thunder down under dessert. Food came to our table very quickly, and we had been served some very tasty complementary bread before we even ordered. First, the salads. Basically met expectations. Had cheddar cheese on top which we found a little bit odd. The wasabi vinaigrette exceeded expectations and was very good. Then, the bloomin' onion. Easily the highlight of the meal. I can see why outback is know for this thing. It's like if onion rings were even tastier. The breading is flavorful and the dipping sauce is delicious. I wish we had asked for more sauce. Next, the steaks arrived. After initial cuts it appeared that our plates had been swapped. Since the meals were identical aside from the steak doneness, we figured it was no big deal and switched plates. The more we ate however, the more clear it became that both steaks were rare. It was unfortunate, but rather than sending back one half eaten steak, we just finished eating. The baked potato was delicious. But it could have had a lot more toppings, easily twice as much bacon, more sour cream, and if you took all the cheddar from the house salad and put it on the potato instead it would've vastly improved both dishes! The garlic butter from the steak added a nice flavor to the potato skin as well. Finally, dessert. The thunder from down under is essentially a brownie sundae. There isn't much to say here. It was good, like most brownie sundaes. Nothing exceptional. A nice way to round out the meal. Other comments: service was VERY attentive. Our server checked in with us frequently and offered the toddler free juice. The manager also stopped at our table twice throughout dinner, which we found a little overbearing. But, to be completely fair, we were taking extensive photographs of food and having in depth discussions about steak doneness. Or maybe this is how outback treats all first time customers? The price was acceptable, maybe a bit on the high side. Clearly a step up from a chili's or other similar type chain. Would I return? Probably not. It's not very authentically Australian, and I think for the price I would rather have something else. We're not huge on steak, but perhaps I could see myself returning and trying one of their burgers on a...
Read moreI am writing to let you know of the unfortunate experience my fiance and I had at your restaurant. We came in around 4:00 pm for dinner. We had heard such great things about Outback and were very excited to try it out. We started off with the mozzarella boomerangs and two Jawssies. The drinks were fine and were the only highlight of our dining experience. Things took a turn when our boomerangs arrived. They were not crispy and the cheese inside was just runny and not in a good way. The marinara that came with them tasted like something you'd find in a Lunchables. It was oily and just not good at all. We couldn't even finish them. For our main dish, I ordered the 6 oz Sirloin (well done) with mac and cheese. First off, I just want to say that I really judge a place on how well they can cook a well done steak. Well done does not imply that you burn the steak and dry out any and all moisture... the steak I was served was so dry, unseasoned, and unappetizing. It was so hard to eat. I was so sad to have received it and really forced myself to eat it because it was $24.99... The mac and cheese had an odd aftertaste and I could only finish half. My fiance ordered the 8 oz Sirloin (medium rare) with fries. His steak came out rare. To not cause a scene, he just ate it as is. With it being so rare, you would expect it to be tender and juicy. This was not the case, the way he described it made my steak sound juicier... and that's saying a lot. After eating as much as we could, we asked for the check. As I was paying, my fiance ran to the restroom and immediately threw up everything he had eaten. He came out of the restroom sweating, pale and had a horrific stomach ache. As soon as I saw him, we hightailed it out of there and I didn't even think to notify management as I immediately took him home to rest. Him and I spend the rest of the weekend with this stomach bug and regretting our decision of eating at this restaurant. I'm deeply saddened to have spent $121.41 ($111.41 + $10 tip.) on this dinner because all we got from it was a slap in the face and a terrible rest of our weekend. I will not be going back to any Outback Steakhouses again after this experience and request a refund. We spent way too much money on the food we were given and I am honestly just saddened by this experience. I look forward to hearing back from someone regarding the refund and how we can...
Read moreMe and my grandmother went here a few days ago and I was so sad at how far this place has fallen. Now to be fair, the host and the waitress were polite and accommodating. I will admit that my grandmother was caught up in conversation so the poor waitress did have to come back a few times to attempt to take our order before my grandmother was ready. But eventually she decided, we ordered and everything seemed great. The first issue came when our order was delivered(delivery was from someone other than our server). I ordered a 8oz sirloin and it literally looked like a hockey puck. Just burnt to a crisp so I did ask that it was redone. The other employee, who seemed to be a manager, didn’t appear that she enjoyed her job. She didn’t acknowledge the poor quality but just took the plate and said they would fix it. Our nice server brought out the new steak and I will say it was perfect. Cooked right and seasoned great. But then the next issue came in when our server dropped off the bill saying she would be our cashier when we were ready. They had charged us for 2 steaks. Not a huge deal and I assumed it was an error and I figured we would be able to get that fixed easily. Now the server almost seemed to ignore us after that. She had a table around us and checked with them twice then just walked by us which was weird because she was so on top of everything before that. After 20 minutes of waiting after the check was dropped off(I only knew because the time stamp on the bill) I had to go to the host station to find someone to request our server to return. After a minute she was there and again very polite and did fix the overcharge. We then paid and left. Coming from a management background you can clearly see that the leadership in this location is toxic. You can feel that the managers don’t enjoy the service industry and struggle with empathy for the customer. It’s sad because the staff really does try their hardest to create a good experience but they are having to compensate for managers that are just miserable so they don’t lose tips. I really feel bad for the staff.
So overall: Front end staff - 9 Kitchen staff -...
